Despite the pronounciation the Inspector was saying it wrong, the r's and l's are interchangeable in Japanese. If you spelt the word the way the Inspector was saying it it wounld be 'Poriceman' while it is the opposite way with the way the teacher was saying it.

That said I don't know why they didn't just have an American person who speaks Japanese fluently do the teacher part instead of a Japanese person who does a poor imitation of english.

god, some Japanese have the talent to speak english perfectly and some just don't. Same for Americans to.

That guy looks mad ugly chewing gum. And the English teacher's pronouncing of the word "policeman" wasn't very different from Megure's.
