Okay, I don't know if this is going to end up being true or not since I haven't seen past this episode yet or read any of the Manga, but I think Subaru is going to somehow end up being Shuichi Akai. I don't know how they would have faked that death with the camera there, but I think Conan KNEW they would need to match Akai's fingerprints and KNEW that Akai's fingerprints were on his cell phone (which is why he smiled after Jodie gave him back a phone with a different ESN). I think it was probably a plan of Conan and Akai's to get Akai brought back into the Organization.

to Poptart: im just like you, i havent watch this or any later eps yet and i dont really read any manga. but i have to admit that your hypothesis is a good one. i kind of have a feeling about subaru being good too myself, since i dont think conan would let his guard off just because subaru is Holmes' fan. but about he being shuichi akai is one interesting point, i hope that would be true. if it is that make the story more interesting.

Agreed, there are just so many points that make you ponder how the anime leads you into a certain direction, but I don't necessarily want to follow those leads. I mean, they made us believe that Jodie = Vermouth at first; why wouldn't there be something similar happening?

I (don't want to) believe that Shuu is dead either, he was way too valuable for the "good side" to disappear so quickly, and we still need him to confront Shiho...

Anyways, I'm sure that Shinichi's house guest is not one of the bad guys, they are emphasizing his connection to Bourbon too much... and S
