Re: Let's learn Korean ~
Together with a forumer ( from another forum), on the other side of this planet, Australia, I landed on TalkToMeInKorean 1.18 this week. The basic alphabet is more or less in my brain now.
The point is to keep it there.
I remember very well how I started to read as a child, pointing at streetsigns and billboards to show my new abilities.
Now, ( I am 58), I do the same with the series.
I stop the clip , and will try to read out loud what is written there.
I work at the airport, in a 24/7 shop.
The TTMIK MP3's are on my laptop, so in the quiet hours between 0.00 and 4.00, I sometimes listen to them, and repeat what I hear out loud. ( I am behind glass in the night, on my own )
Somebody who might watch me from a distance might think I have gone senile.
No, I am not, I try to learn Korean, meanwhile keeping my braincells, what is left of it, at work with that exercise.
But I do get the occasional Korean customer, and when I tried to use a phrase, the person was looking at me hopeless, not getting what I said.
Long way to go.
We will visit family in Canada in June, we definitely want to stay in Toronto a few days instead of going into the woods. ( Too many mosquito's in June)
We will stay in Chinatown or Koreatown, next to each other, and I will try to buy some Korean (comic-) books meant for young kids that are just starting to read.
