Based on the very popular series of videogames, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time stars Jake Gyllenhaal as the 'rogue prince' Dastan and Gemma Arterton as the 'mysterious princess' Tamina (both seen above), who reluctantly team up to safeguard an ancient dagger that could release the Sands of Time, allowing its possessor to reverse time and rule the world. Mike Newell, of Donnie Brasco, Pushing Tin, Mona Lisa Smile, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire previously, is directing the movie. Jordan Mechner, one of the creators of the video game, has been working closely on the script and development of this as well.
