gungrave, it's got this sad undertone throughout the entire thing, even when they're joking. betrayal and struggling to reconcile feelings...........
gintama, it's a comedy through and through, but must admit certain episodes are really meant to be watched with tears in our eyes
ai no kusabi, not very mainstream since it's a yaoi, but it's considered a masterpiece. the ending is...... just...... you want to be happy, you want to feel nice, but how can you when ......
and a whole bunch of others, miyazaki ones, some i can't even name anymore, not very good with japanese names, but the stories leave a big impression on me.
