Also the shinigami (Vizard) were infected which turned them into hollows.
Were the hollows infected with something that turned them into shinigami? Where the hell did this shinigami side come from? Is it just a coincidence, that the hollows he used it on, could of become a shinigami if it hadn't of become a hollow?
How can he dissolve the barrier between a shinigami and hollow, if their just hollows, not every soul has the potential of becomeing a shinigami. How does just removing their masks give them the ability to use a zanpaktou?

it stands to reason that only souls with enough reiatsu to become shinigami, would have the power to rip off their own mask, which is a pretty difficult thing apparently, we saw orihime's brother try to fight the hollow taking him over, and it was still a fresh transformation. its probably alot harder after youve lived as a hollow for a long time, the will to fight it is gone.
those hollow, who are almost certainly menos, have the knowledge of hundreds of hollows. hollows who may have devoured shinigami in their lifetimes. if any one of those hollow had any knowledge of how a shinigami talks to their zanpakuto in battle, or how the zanpakuto is part of the shinigami's soul, they may have tried to talk to their own zanpakuto within them.
they would have an inner struggle with their zanpakuto, like ichigo did with zangetsu, and somehow or another, boom, zanpakuto manifests itself.
in essence, a hollow is a regular soul, with the same potential to become a shinigami as any soul in SS, but the evil or whatever devours them and takes control through their mask or whatever. so if a hollow ever became a "complete" arrancar, they would just be a normal, non-hollowized soul. menos class hollows would be an exception, because they arent single souls, but a combination of lots of souls.
so basically imo, an arrancar is a hollowized soul, thats fought off the control of the "evil hollowness" (im coining that term, its official now, E.H. if you will)
enough to try to talk to their inner zanpakuto, just like any soul in SS would. a "complete" arrancar would be completely unhollowized, and thus a shinigami, but since these hollows cant get rid of their masks, their E.H., completely, they have hollow like sword releases, and still use cero and stuff.

Makes all the sense in the world, thanks.
So we can say, that the souls fought off their hollow side, and basically became a new soul but with the strength and abilites they had as a hollow. With that spiritual pressure and strength, they were able to manafest a zanpaktou. ( Transformation caused by the hogyoku)
Maybe, when they conquered their hollow side (hogyoku did it for them), it sealed it away in their zanpaktou, kinda like the Vizard sealed it away in a mask. Hinted at by taking their previous form once they release their zanpaktou.
Wow typing that, made alot of things make sense. I think we've established something their not going to explain for another 10 or some chapters.
