But he wasn't infected like the Vizard, neither was the hogyoku used on him like it was the Vizard. One of the major differences in the two are, the Vizard were already Shinigami, whereas Ichigo was not. While transforming, his body didn't deteriorate like a normal soul would. Which mean't he was able to resist it like the Vizard did.

The speculation, is that him obtaining his shinigami powers in the midst of becoming a hollow, overpowered his hollow transformation. Which had already established a conscious mind, and was drived deep within his soul.
((Hinted at by Ichigos zanpaktou"Old man Zangetsu", and hollow speaking to each other within his soul.)) So basically, forming a new hybrid, of Shinigami/hollow. He was able to dissolve the boundires between hollow and shinigami without the help of the hogyoku.

Im typing this on the run so I may of missed some points, and messed something up. Anyone else, have any thoughts, if not i'll be back tonight, to fix it, if there are any.

so, in the event that ichigo's inner hollow takes control of him, he will undoubtedly still use zangetsu. is he still a vaizard?
