Well people do it all the time when they don't have a body to put in, whatever the case. Its not uncommon, plus if its a known fact their bodys disappear, they would have to be empty caskets, or maybe even just head stones. I don't know, I guess its one of those things just implied and you have to accpept it as fact. But your right, its weird..

Doubtlessly this'll be milked for a long time more than you expected. There's collectively 8antagonists if you exclude gin, aizen and tousen. When you have 2 or more battles at once you get the extraordinary opportunity to drag each one out as though it was in bullet-time. Mark my words, it'll flick back and forth between the fraccion and ulquiorra, and it won't end for an annoyingly long period of time
