yeah....I agree this too...he must have been a captain and lost his powers from wearing a gigai so he could leave in this world with Ichigo`s mam...

I'm not so sure what he might be but, they gave us a pretty good idea that he was a captain... Also, he totally owned the Grand Fisherman in a single hit. I would hate to be hit by it...

I think he was a captain, I thoufgt he even said so. But I can't remember it very well xD I really wonder which squad he was from.

He doesn't seem to be a healer. If we assume that he was in SS at the same time as Urahara, we can already take out squads 4 and 12. He doesn't seem to be a power person, so 11 can be counted out. If we assume squad 2 is like, the Ninja squad, he definitely wasn't in there.
Let's recap what we assume so far: He is not in squads 2, 4, 11, and 12.

Squad 6 seems to be comprised of calm minded nobles. Yes, we cross this one out.
Also, can we just assume he's not from the squads that Aizen, Gin, and Tousen were in? Cross out 3, 5, and 9.

Yeah, so I'm down to 1, 7, 8, 10, and 13.

If I had to make a guess, I'd guess 10 because Toushirou is really young (I'd guess around Ichigo's age, because I think Shinigami age slower than humans). He could have been Captain before Toushirou, quit, and then Toushirou became Captain after his recruitment.

^ you make a good point ultimase and it could be right but remember the 11th squad only became a power squad when zaraki became captain but we know its not 11th squad cause their was another captain at that time lol

he diffently a captain otherwise ichigo wouldn't have all the reiki he has. i mean rly he can just let it all pore out and he still has over 98% of his reiki

You cannot count out gins squad. remember gin was once aizen's vice captain. He could have taken ichigos dad's spot

Guys u shud think man Ichigo Dad just barley got his power back didn't ya remember that and look didn't Ichigo Dad met That Quincy guy dad so that should mean that his dad was once squad 1 but got remove because of a problem his dad had made (i think his dad marry a human so that y his shinigami power is gone)
