yes,but if i remember right the criteria of selection and promotion is the power they have, above the captain class and if he was (is) very , very strong then they i don't see why the age have something whit promotion ,right?

You don't just get promotions based on power.
There's experience, skill, and most importantly services to SS to remember.
Kenpachi got as far as captain because you could defeat the current captain for the rank, I doubt he would have made it further than vice-captain otherwise, especially since the other two ways require bankai.

and your right about that, but we talk about ishin not kempachi ,and at this moment we don't know ,how much experience ,skill ishin have then,either if services in SS was or was't so important to remember.
but sure,i can't prove contrary either, for now
and about age ,if we skip yamamoto,i don't remember to have seen other old shinigami .
(shunsui have over 200 years and yet to me he don't seems so old,
in reality we don't know how shinigami get old)

Rukia is around 150 according to herself, Yamamoto could be 2000 for all I know, and Unohana is the next oldest captain, but guessing her age is too darn hard.

Well if rukia is 150 years old. Then yamato must be like 800years old. Cuz rukia and kurosaki are the age of highschoolers. And a highschooler is around 15. So 1 year must be 10 years in Soul society. And yamato looks like 80 years old so he must be 800.

No I believe that's incorrect, I remember seeing something bout Yamamoto creating the academy a thousand or two years ago.
I'll try and find the source, I may be mistaken, it's been awhile.
