Of course you have to be connected to a client and the torrent in question to see the IP's, so using private trackers and dl'ing recent anime fansub releases is fairly safe.

Plus every Wednesday there are like 1000-20.000 seeds and leeches on the DB torrents, I hardly think anyone is gonna bother to monitor those(actually they usually attack the fansubbers themselves, but Viz(they guys with rights to Bleach) don't like handing out C&D's so they leave DB alone)

So to sum it up, we can no longer Dl things safely via torrent unless we use encrypted proxies for it, or protection programs like Peer Guardian 2.

Yeah, thats what I meant. If it's unsafe to download from torrents, could it mean it is quite safe to download from random sites like I usually do(I have never downloaded from Torrent and such programs). If thats true I might be able to download anime/game osts and such without worrying, do you know anything about that Mr reaper?

If you're not using a torrent program like BitTorrent or uTorrent or BitComet etc to download, but simply click the link and get a download window that asks you to do whatever(like download or open the file, or such options) then it's not a torrent.

The thing with those torrent programs is that you can see the IP of everyone you're connected to. I use Peer Guardian 2 to blacklist certain IP's so they can't connect to me, and thus can't see me.
BTW, Veoh uses P2P(the basis for torrents) technology, but you don't see the hosts, so downloading vids from Veoh is safe(I downloaded all of Blood+ via the Veoh links on AC back in the day )
