wasnt it Orihime's crying out that caused it?
and my guess is as good as yours but if he transformed because of her then he is in control. way to rip off Uliqiorria's arm lol.

I reckon its another inner battle, Whewt pointed out the change of his hand in the last chapter which shows fluctuation possibly because of another inner battle to determine control.

Yes, this is a high possibility. And also, Ichigo is the only Human Shinigami correct? so it's possible this is the first happening of this type of transformation.

I re-read the chapter and it seems ulquiorra may be hinting that it is a vasto.

Whatever a cero oscura is...it must be more powerful than the regular ones...more powerful than a gran-rey...or maybe more powerful than the one ulquiorra used on ichigo to burn his clothes away lol(i think it's more powerful than ulquiorra's)

Once again a hint at the human form...VASTO. And i think ulquiorra didn't even finish what he wanted to say, if i were to complete it i would just put [that powerful] right before ichigo appears behind him.(but what do i know?)

Ichigo is as much Shinigami as any other. Ichigo had a tranformation before when he was training with the Vizards, they were known to have had inner battles at least once and may of had others.

next chapter is out either tonight or tomorrow.

Do humans that become hollows evolve into "VASTO LORDE" in Heuco Mundo by eating other hollows?

and also pertaining to Ichigo's transformation, im sure he is much stronger than Ulquiorra as to render his segunda form obsolete by using a super fast shunpo to rip off his arm.

and another hint that Ichigo is deff. not in control was when Ulquiorra asked what he was. ichigo just screamed, or (not ichigo)
