Are you talking about the philosophical term Ad Absurdum such as Zeno's Paradoxes etc.?
Ad Absurdum in philosophy is basically a paradox. Like the arrow and target Ad Absurdum.
Zeno thought movement was impossible because if you take a line, there are infinity amount of points between the one end of the line to the other end. So for example, if an archer shoots an arrow at a target, the arrow would have to reach an infinity amount of endpoints to reach the target, thus not reaching the target in essence.
Rofl this is way off topic by the way, just had to explain this one.

Was it stated that Kuchiki's dad/grandfather died? What if he was promoted to the royal guard? Another candidate for a royal guard member I guess!

^Is just the same as I said, but I just simplified it. The arrow and target is not itself the argument, but the fact that something has to be done an infinite amount of time is absurd, because we've learned from another place via experience, that doing something infinite is impossible.
= my previous post.

Well, the Kuchiki family seems to have some sort of lineage with the 6th Division, and I don't think Genrei's father was still Captain, I mean he would have be really old. Maybe Shunsui just had to much sake.

It hasn't been said yet, but again the whole age things makes it seem like he came from the Royal Guard.

I know the arrow and target is not the argument itself, just an example of it. I guess I see where you were trying to go with that.

And SSJ5 does age really matter? Lol. If Yamamoto is still alive and kickin' so should everyone else.

In this case it does, think how old Genrei's dad would have to be, Byakuya's great grandfather. The people with larger spirit power live longer, look how much Yamamoto has, that's the only reason he's still alive. :P

Well he states he founded the gotei when he fought Shunsui and Ukitake right?
That puts him at what more than 500 years old, maybe older?
