yeah it all kind of poped together in my head as I was typing it, it actually started out as me saying wouldn't it be funny if uryuu and ichigo were related, and then It occurred to me that we know next to nothing about ichigo's mom.

I highly doubt she's Quincy, there is no evidence pointing to it. She could have been a Shinigami, maybe the Grand Fisher was too strong for her though.

Yea plus I mean even that one hollow who killed Yoichi (the little parakeet boy) made Karin feel sick and she can see just as well as Ichigo

if you notice I mentioned ryujin knowing about Isshin's identity as a shinigami, I doubt that ryujin would have known about isshin's identity as a shinigami if all they were was buisness associates, and with all of the clinics that must exist in a city of that size, i doubt that ryujin would have kept on sending people there knowing about isshin's questionable sanity if all they were were buisness associates. in fact they would probably never talk about ichigo's mom's relation to the Ishida's since it was probably a sore topic for the both of them.

Thats true, but i wasnt saying that your idea of them being related through Ichigo's mother wasnt probable, I actually like that idea

there is also no evidence to shoot it down with and it she was a shinigami, she most likely would have dropped the gigai and fought in soul form, which she clearly didn't.

she is also a lot weaker that ichigo ever was. plus a quincy draws power from the spirit particles around them and the living world isn't the same as soul society or hueco mundo in terms of the sheer quantity of spirit particles and if you take into account that sho would have had absolutely no previous training as a quincy and still does not have it, I think that it would be very plausible that my theory still holds true. and I was oly spitballing to begin with.

in any case, our promised isshin arc should explain these things.

guys one mistake i think you are making in the whole creating of the academy and shunsui and ukitake being the first two captains is that all the manga says is they are the first two shinigami to graduate from the academy and become captains. their were probably captains before and the gotei 13 but they were the first to graduate the academy and they were trained by yamamoto.
