Well I'm not trying to create a complete theory of reishi distribution or something. Just suggesting it might drift to where it's needed. Of course it could go the other way and they all just chose to live where it's bubbling out of the ground the fastest, but there's never been an explanation of how reishi is produced, really.

Reishi wouldn't be produced, they just "are" the same way atoms just "are"

Okay. Guess I was just thinking about how they're so much more powerful in SS because the whole place is made of reishi and what the limits might be in the real world. Maybe there are spots with virtually no reishi as well then.

| Psp Fan | Seeing that they are on Earth, for them to have a gravitational pull of any scale, their Reiatsu would have to be a mass greater than a small moon. Wait nvm. Now that I think about it, any form of spiritual mass wouldn't affect physical mass 100%. Seeing that there could be a character who's mass could be greater than a small moon. If spiritual mass would have an affect on physical mass, the Earth would orbit around them in an intense battle. Quote:
Any area in SS to have absolutely no Reishi in the air would be their Outer Space.

I didn't mean a literal gravitational pull. It was an analogy. Doesn't have to be on the same scale as real gravity. At the time I didn't realise there was actual established information about it so I was theorising about how it might work, considering shinigami supposedly gradually absorb reishi. Mreaper already said reishi particles were like atoms. Once I learned some more about how there is an actual explanation that had been officially established, that was good enough for me.

Well, you have to piece it together between chapters, so the exact nature/function of reishi is still a little vague. We don't know if they bind/repel like regular atoms or if they have their own laws. Of course, that's fine, it gives Tite more room to build.

Which, considering everything is supposed to be made up of reishi on their end, is pretty natural. Hollows are apparently more efficient at absorbing them though, and derive power from it.
