aizen did say even if u realize his hypnosis u cant escape it so his bankai might be an improvement of his shikai, something like byakuya's

What does Byakuya's shikai even do in the first place?

It breaks his sword down into a thousand small blades that cannot be seen by the normal eye and slices through his opponent. In his first stage of bankia release it is basically the same but with more blades and he has better contol of them.

He has better control of his bankai than Ichigo though. It is not just a full release from the begining. That was just the start of it. The more intense he has to get the more it turns to an attack only bankai and in it's final stage it is only attack and the thousand mini blades become swords and surround the opponent; although the offense always seemed to be a bit of a defense to me as well. There was something about the how the cuts his blades makes while in bankai continue to do damage to an opponent but I don't remember how that went exactly.

byakuya has an all-rounded bankai, good attack, defense and endurance i suppose

yea but aizens shikai is stronger than byakuyas bankai so i dont see how a zanpaktou ability like his would be an improvement on aizens
