I don't know, everytime I read that chapter, and then the one after he returns. It seems, hes just trying to pursuade him into wearing it.
Saying anything to get him to use it, knowing Kon will be in his body, and needs protection. I don't know though, maybe she did give it to Isshin, for some reason or another.

Talking about a charm??? I think you fail to se the signifigance of the charm. It is a charm linking Ichigo's mother to soul society. If you would like to know more simply puruse the other 99 pages of this thread and find them....

Ok just kidding. I noticed when rereading the manga that the charm Ichigo's mother gave to Isshin had power enough to stop a grand fisher attack. We concluded that if she had given it to him it is very likely she would have been from soul society (or maybe she was just one of the first humans that could see spirits and that is how her and Issin met and since she could see spirits that means she could see hollows so she created a charm to protect people from them. but if that was the case it wouldn't have made sense to give it to a captain strength shinigami) Then whewt stumbled upon those two pages that shown a charm similar to the one worn by Ichigo, being worn by a vice captain.

lol ok I understand and it may not be non-serious but i will say she was probably just a human who could see spirits cause she was not Captain lvl if she was beaten by Grand Fisher but she may have been like Isshin and lost her powers but who knows

Ok here's a new theory. I think Ichigo really has his own shinigami powers buried deep within him and just needs someone to help him get them out. I don't think Byakuya actually killed him. And then I think Ichigo will chase Rukia into soul society and save her from her brother and that other guy with the red hair.
