Lol at the comment towards characters with extremely overpowered abilities in animes. Yeah killing off Cpt. Cmdr Yamamoto would just be wrong on so many levels considering who he is, what he represents and power level in the series. I'm not saying he should be the one to defeat Aizen as the series revolves around other characters, but regardless of whether you like him or not killing him off in the future just doesnt seem right at all.

It may be wrong, but it is not unheard of in stories. While I hate to compare Anime/Manga to something like Harry Potter, in that series they killed off the strongest person on the protagonist's side.

I get it and I know this wouldnt set a precedent for killing off powerful protagonist type characters. Its just that so far, inconceivably, no protag's have died at all "IN THE SERIES" in spite of what should be extremely powerful opponents. To simply find a way to kill off Yama-Jii in the future just seems wrong to me. I mean Cpt. Cmdr as opposed to some other Shinigami Cpt. or Lieutenant? Come on.

That's a good point. Many people should really have died at this stage. Especially someone like Iba who got blown away by that creature Allon.

Not gonna spoil anything, but no, Aizen at this point does not overpower Yamamoto. In fact their stat cards have the same total amount.

Watch Kubo come up with some lame plot point like Yami Jii eventually dies from his wounds taking the brunt of Wonderweiss' detonation, Ichigo inconceivably defeats Aizen w/ his "Final" Getsuga (which is a crappy plot device to me too by the way), and since that means hes stronger than every Cpt. then Ichigo becomes or is offered the position of the new Cpt. Cmdr. What? Anything goes w/ this storyline lol. Oh and everyone says "Kurosaki Ichigo" a hundred times for two eps and then credits roll.

I think he has 2 main purposes yet to happen. 1. is to beat a super powerful futeure villain that nobody else can, and two to just possibly be Ichigo's future sensei. Think about it. Ichigo's current level without vizard or hollow powers is low tier capatin. with vizard mask he is mid/high tier. with his full hollow powers he is hight tier surpassed only by the likes of Yamaji, Aizen and probably Shunsui and possibly the three other badasses Yoruichi,isshin, and kisuke and now he is learning what will be presumably the highest level technique yet. What I'm getting at is that there will be very very few left who are stronger than ichigo after the aizen saga is over and he'll need to improve to fight the future villains so Yamaji just might end up as Ichigo's sensei if not him Shunsui, Ukitake or Yoruichi again because nobody else could teach him much.
