Issin was probibly one of the following captians after the Vizard act and met Urahara in the real world, I don't know what would happen afer words tho.

There is a rumour that he was part of the zero guard but i doubt it maybe the tenth squad cuz during the flash backs they did'nt say who was the captain of that squad.

Yea they said 10th squads captain died, but Shinji didn't reconize Isshins Spritual pressure. Them being captains at the same time, I think he would reconize it.

Thought just popped into my head. If Kisuke put the hyokogen into Rukia to hide it, and she had only been in the real world for a few months, where did he hide it before that? He had also developed a way to take it out of the soul without destroying the soul. That would have required some testing unless he just got lucky but I doubt that. We could surmise that it was in Isshin before that possibly only 20 years but it may have been more than that. Kisuke said he had not used shinigami powers for 20 years but we don't know how long it takes the gigai to dissolve the powers of a captain class soul reaper. He could have been a member of Zero gaurd that assisted kisuke in hiding it and therefore forfited all his powers (luckily he had enough to still be of captain class after 20 years of being a human, we all know the Zero gaurd is well above captain) But it wasn't Isshin that had the hoyokegen in his soul before Rukia then it would have to be someone, because Rukia has only been around for about 50 years they said. That would leave 30 years of him just keeping it in his pocket.

how can someone of the zero guards importance just leave soul society without keeping tabs on him though. Theres no way. Something fishy >:O

Haha. This whole show is based off fishy things. That is what makes it great. And the gigai would have hidden his spiritual pressure so they couldn't keep tabs on him.

He hasn't been a soul reaper for 20 years, and Ichigo is only 15ish. So he hasn't really had a chance since he has regained his power.
