i agree on ichigo's mother being the reason for leaving SS, whether it was forced or by choice, but i doubt that he's related to the king. i do however feel the idea of him being in the royal guard is pretty likely.

its the only possible senerio if you look at thhe details.read back in the manga and you will understand what im talking about.read back to ichigo having his own soul slayer magically and back too when his dad fought the freak.pay attention to his dads attire and you will notice that he doesnt have a squad insignia like the other captains.you can only assume that ichigos family was meant to protect the king.

no squad number just means that he may have been in the royal guard. from that, i cant infer anything about him being nobility, or anything about his family. ichigo didnt have his own zanpakuto "magically." he had one that was borrowed from rukia's powers, and then when he got his own it was because kisuke put him through the whole ordeal with the pit, which i assume could be done to anyone with the insane amounts of reiatsu that ichigo has.

1. Because it was never necessary I suppose. When you think about it reasonably if you had no powers why make a boast that you were a shinigami captain? if you were in that position it would put you in no better of a position, in certain situations it would be a disadvantage. It was only recently that Isshin regained his power. Also it could've had something to do with the guilt of not being able to protect his wife, maybe it had built up to the point where he simply wouldnt admit to having that power. Or perhaps it was for the benefit of his children, IE wanting them to have a more conventional upbringing, yknow not having to say "Oh yeah, my dad runs a clinic....And he's dead, but dont worry he's still around wielding a sword against undead monsters by night, and treating your wounds by day". many reasonable possibilities really.
2. It's a strong possibility, by all means I believe that himself, Ryuken, and the Vizard will become involved in the fight, that is unless they have been put to sleep with the rest of the population of the town by 12th division.
3. Yes, he was. He admits being captain class and holds the remnants of his white captain garment.
4. That's a stupid theory. The 3rd way for a shinigami to become captain is to KILL the former captain. Now I'm not a genius but maybe you'll remember this but dead shinigami are dead for good. They're gone. just like dead people are gone to humans.

dude his soul slayer was there all along.it just had to be drawn out.read back in the manga and try again.

Ya didnt really add anything new to the theory there -.- you added the same thing in different words, Balling referred to it as kisuke helping him "get" his zanpakuto, you reffered to it as helping him "draw out" his zanpakuto....Essentially there's no difference in meaning, just in wording.

I might have misunderstood. But Rukia gave him shinigami powers, they weren't her specific powers, but shinigami abilities in general. That was his sword, when she gave him powers. Obviously since, it was the same exact sword, when he discovered his own powers at kisukes. It hadn't repaired itself after Byakuya destroyed it.

Yeah. That's true, it was indeed his own power, however Rukia's power seemed to be acting as a kind of catalyst. But of course that doesnt explain how when Ichigo's reiatsu point was destroyed he was still able to become a shinigami once more. perhaps it really was just Rukia's reiatsu being processed and none of his own.

Well just he destroyed Rukia powers, he hadn't been going off his own at that point.

i think his father was part of the Royal guard like Whewt22 said and yes he will help in the fight why would he not i also think that uryuu and his father will help too even tho they hate each other
