So they were specifically Rukia's powers. i guess who's power it was doesn't matter, just the being who uses them. Either that or this is another plothole. Either way there's no sense in going over it, there's not really enough evidence to make a solid decision on how someone else's powers can manifest into YOUR zanpakuto, when each person's power is supposed to have a unique zanpakuto with any other explanation than the one above.

Their just shinigami powers in general not hers, she was able to regain hers back after time. She forked over the abilities to become a shinigami, and they became Ichigos powers at that point. Thus, the manafestation of his own zanpaktou.

well, the zanpakuto ichigo got from rukias powers wasnt released, so we dont know that it was "his" zanpakuto. it was just larger than normal due to his massive reiatsu. rukia didnt give him her reiatsu, only her powers, so it was her powers within him, tapping into ichigo's reiatsu, which all souls have, regardless of whether they are a shinigami or not.

But I think that was Zangetsu cause as we already know a Zanpakuto is a part of the soul so that was probably just Zangetsu's normal form.

I might have misunderstood. But Rukia gave him shinigami powers, they weren't her specific powers, but shinigami abilities in general. That was his sword, when she gave him powers. Obviously since, it was the same exact sword, when he discovered his own powers at kisukes. It hadn't repaired itself after Byakuya destroyed it.

lol my bad didnt read back,but yes I am because like I said Zanpakuto's are not just swords that are formed from your powers they are a manifestation of the soul meaning that even though some people say that was Rukias power all she did was activate his real Shinigami powers and thus Zangetsu was born lol

In what way? I thought this topic was obvious when Ichigo came out of the pit with the same damn sword he was using when he was with rukia.

zangetsu said that what byakuya destroyed was rukias power, not ichigo's. what your saying is, that byakuya destroyed zangetsu, and it needed repairing when he was with kisuke. thats contradictory no?

besides, we know from when renji broke zabimaru, that zanpakuto's repair themselves.
