DV he linked the page showing mod souls using dead bodies to fight. Not that means these bodies are functional and worth anything, they just become zombies. One sec Mre getting ready to wash my car DV's repsonse was easier to reply too iin a second.

Actually there's nothing mentioned about how well they'd perform, but if the body is in good shape then I imagine it would work well. I mean Kon animates his plushie, and that doesn't even have muscles. And DV, if you remember then Rukia used some light ball in Rukongai, which was proof that she had Spirit power and could become a shinigami. All the other kids were like "oooooooooh!" because that's not such a common sight(I mean, imagine how many spirits must live in rukongai, even if there are a lot of shinigami in Seireitei they're relatively rare). As for why I think it's logical... well, his body is right there, ready to be used, they even made sure to patch it up before training him and made him take strange medicine, but there's no mention of a gigai anywhere. And Whewt, I still liked your new Avie better.

Of course, but I have come to a new conclusion in the midst of this discussion. ![]() I don't think you had a solid point at the begining of this hense my confusion. Or you just didn't know how to word it properly so you gave tidbits each response. Either way, I read it all at once instead of individual responses. And despite a few strong points I disagree with which I wont get into, the underline factor is were discussing Ichigos body all the rest is irrelevant, and you have a valid point.. I noticed you mentioned Isshin, but weren't sure if you could elaborate, and I started thinking. And Isshin was able to reproduce. Which is practically impossible for souls to do, even in a gigai. The way I look at it now, is an "organic gigai" or "human body gigai." Thus allowing him to act as a "medium" between soul and living, allowing him to continue growing, reproducing etc. Ichigo isn't alive no matter how you spin it. Maybe whats preventing the body from going limp and rotting, is the fact there is a soul in it. The chain being cut kills you, but as long as theres a soul in the body, it continues living. As long as there is a soul inside the body, technically it's alive, right? Although I would assume if there isn't a soul in it, the body would practically be dead. Hense Kon. Either way I think this would be practical, and alot more sensible/easier to understand. But you were correct and I agree, it is his body. What are you and DV discussing about Shinigamis? And what avatar, I have had shinji Since i've been on ac!

Me and DV were discussing some points about if shinigami could return to their bodies freely, and I argued that no one (except Ichigo) has become a shinigami before passing on. Therefore their bodies have long since decayed and no one remembers them anymore, which makes Ichigo the only one to possibly retain his body. Yeah, I was gonna bring up Isshin next. The thing is, does he have his own body, or did Urahara make a custom one for him? He looks like he's been a Gotei captain or something, but that would make him forget about his body and past life, right?(phew, we're finally back on topic). But you know... we don't really know that much about Gigai's and their limitations, do we? I don't think there's been much info on their organic components. EDIT: oh, about the avatar, a while ago I think you had an alternate avatar(with some boy that slightly reminded me of young Naruto) in black and white, while the Shinji avatar was in your sig. Could have been someone else, but I was pretty sure that was you.

I would assume none of the gigais have organic compnents to the extent of reproducing, I don't see how they could. And yea, Isshins history came to mind, but we really don't know anything. I know the untracable gigai takes away your power, turning you into a normal soul. But that wouldn't make a difference, souls in rukon can't have kids either. The normal gigais he gives to Hitsugayas team helps them recover power after a fight, and stay in the world of the living for an extended length of time. But I guess anything is possible when it comes to Kisuke.

We kinda assume that from power level, the way he dresses and talks. Anyway, I thought of something else: Shinigami seem to be able to reproduce. I mean, Byakuya had parents and a grandfather, and it was noted that both Hisana and Rukia were adopted into the family, which should mean that you are otherwise born into it. Now I know this is weird, but... since shinigami are invisible but have physical impact on the living world, would it be possible for a shinigami to reproduce with a human while in spirit form? (I kinda doubt this, but if it's so then it gives rise to all sorts of questions).

I like the theory that he is of the Royal Guard. I could see that. But more than likely he was a Captain in the 13 squads. Also he couldn't be the 12th because the captain before Urahara was a woman who got promoted to the Royal Guard. And we are pretty sure he was before Urahara.

Doubtful it's never mentioned anywhere that shinigami can reproduce. They royal families may be souls who were of blood relation prior to dieing. Or they could all just be adopted in apon inspection. I would presume since this is the only information we were given, they are most likely just a syndicate of souls bound by the name family not blood. We just don't know. Bleach 76 page 09 | One Manga It's said only people with spiritual powers can touch souls. I guess its possible if that person had powers..

Yeah, that's weird too. Shinigami and hollows can interact with physical objects even without willing it(their attacks cause damage to power cables, concrete, roofs, all kinds of stuff) yet only people with spirit power can actually touch them in turn?
