I think most of the previous posts had more juice than this.

Kisuke was exiled by Soul Society for creating an untraceable gigai which caused the spiritual power of the Soul Reaper inside it to deteriorate, eventually transforming them into humans.

ya, nothing new really in this thread, except maybe that his mother may have been from soul society, i'll rewatch the early episodes, but somehow i dont believe that

hmm i find it doubtful that she was from SS and it would be wayy too early for urahara and isshin to have been captains together they prob met in the real world afterwards or isshin looked for him for some reason or another

In regard to Isshin being a captain i suppose its possible but one thing that caught my eye was how he wore his captains garb(if it is a captains robe its not fully visible).
It was worn over his left shoulder which is not how the other captains wear theirs.
In some culture people of higher status wore symbols of status on their shoulder to show that they were not of the normal ranks (both in military and social groups) as well as there are no symbols shown on this Haori(overcoat) like the other captains.


Just and observation that i notice after watching the episodes a third time

i think ichigos family is part of the the soul kings guards i mean like denteddagger said ichigos father wheres his garb differently and think about this ppl.squad zero a.k.a the royal guards are supposed to be stronger than the captains of all the other squads including squad 11.ichigo just happens to be the strongest shingami ive ever seen.i mean hes proven himself against Byakuya,kenpachi,and numerous other capt. ranked ppl.then on top of that even after he gets his shingami powers taken he just happens to have his own.its liable prove guys and undeniable.fface the cold hard truth his family has guarded the soul king in the past.

maybe he has some form of decent from royal guard i suppose but then again that would suck so bad, hes ment to be a character with no regards in soul society and some of these captains are very old would know isshin so why would they not question ichigo

This might be out there, but what if Issin is a Shiba? That would explain where Ichigo got his power from and why he looks like Kaien. Also, if Issin went and hid in the real world that could be the reason the Shiba family was kicked out as a noble family. Hell, I even think Issin and Ganju look similar. I'm probably wrong, but we'll find out someday.

Maybe not banished but put on a special mission of some sort? Ichigos spiritual pressure is through the roof, and Urahada is a brilliant man. There could be a deeper meaning than just kicked out.

i seriously doubt kurosaki was the name isshin used in soul society, and ichigo and isshin dont neccassarily look a lot alike, so i can understand them not questioning it
