Couldn't he have been 3rd capt. after Rose, but before Gin? 'Cause Gin was just lt.capt. when Abarai, Momo and Kira were students.

Oo that's possible, although I think the position was left open until he filled it. He was a child prodigy like Hitsugaya who we know became captain at a young age, maybe he just filled it right away? Who knows, but it's possible.

well when i said tht i didnt have all tht much time cause the bell rang at school to go into more detail lol but whn i tried to think where and whn he became captain or temporary captain which ever he could have been ugh whts tht dude wit the long blonde hair who always have it perfect and alays read doujin type books wit love anyways he could have been his former captain and/or LT before he either actually did retire without being secretly a criminal or went AWOL like urahara and yoiuchi did except his was by free will and probably for personnal reasons

I personally believe that Isshin Kurosaki was the captain of Sqaud 10. After the captain during the TBTP arc died, then left before Hitsugya Toshirou became captain. And how he arrived in the real world he met with Urahara Kisuke and he helped him out for a while. Then he met his wife and started his clinic, and so-on and so-forth.

Well,, i think its clearly not Isshin that was the captain of the 4th squad. According to this:

On 6:50 Ukitake makes it clear. Its more relevant if he would be the 10th squad captains.
