We've said it before, Kurosaki might have been Masaki's name originally, not Isshin's. Or it's a made-up name entirely.

Also we know he only began living as a human around 20 years ago, or at least lost his powers then.

After overpowering everyone in the SS arc, everyone gets to be an ex-captain, or something of equivalent rank/power.

Ya know... it would help explain Ichigo's odd similarity in appearance to Kaien Shiba if Isshen Kurosaki was originally from the Shiba clan.

Well Ashido isn't really cannon desptie Tite actually designing him, so that doesn't really mean much.

We discussed the possibilty of Isshin being part of the Shiba clan awhilleee ago, sounds possible until proven otherwise. Especially considering all the foreshadowing between Kaien and Ichigo's appearances from the beginning.

Ashido being in the manga or not isn't really relevant to my point, I just meant that Tite can design characters looking similar to Ichigo without it meaning anything.

But yeah, that foreshadowing is the only thing I consider making it a possibility, but I also think that it's extremely unlikely that he'd share that many traits without being an actual brother, rather than a cousin or something in that direction, if common genes are the cause and not just coincidence.

By the way, Rukia, Byakuya and Ukitake recognized the similarities, but did Kuukaku or Ganju ever comment on it? I don't think they did...

Yeh however that was Tite's original character he just didn't have the time to elaborate.
I don't think it was too unintentional especially after all we stated above.

Ganju did when he slammed into that old mans house, and then his hate for shinigami kinda took over I think.

i think his reaction was because he hated rukia for killing kian, but that idea of ishin being shiba is not right because he would have the clans markings somewhere
