Gin believed that he would be able to kill Aizen. Theres a difference between believing and facts, he only made Aizen more furious.

Aizen was defeated by Urahara, even Ichigo was not able to defeat Aizen completely.

I went back to read it since that post was made. I was asking because I couldn't remember exactly what happened after Ichigo's final attack. I knew Urahara sealed him, but I forgot that Aizen was still conscious and was regenerating.
