How long do you think Aizen has been planning his quest for the kings key?

In my opinion, even before his times as Shinji's lieutenant. I just dont think he started scheming up his plan until he met Gin. In the manga he looked excited to meet him, like he has been waiting for sometime to find someone who fits the critera of a cold blooded "genius" like Gin, to help him carry out his plans.
