Poem 1

Spoiler
For just a moment, this wasn’t a mistake.
The steps we took to protect ourselves worked;
Hidden behind the mirror, you laugh.
A melody starts playing in the distance;
The sullen, mocking tune turns the sky purple.
Tears down the sun and reveals a hole;
A mesmerizing emptiness that makes me forget.

Cherished Bonds

To watch afar from the outside in, like a mirror
of my own desires. There was them, those lucky devils,
whose charm was mesmerizing to all but a few with
empty promises and hidden intent.

The purple haze was clear to me as my desire to
be on the other side where the grass seemed all that
much greener caused the sad melody which course
through my head bitterly watching in sinful hope of
every hour as I reach out to her keeping my heart on
a leash.

Should it be so hard to stay looking in, knowing I could
have given her so much more, knowing I could treat
her so much better, knowing I could give her my
whole heart free of burden and selfish wants?

Still knowing all of this I bit my tongue, reluctant to step
In knowing it wasn’t right, not then, not at that fine hour.

Yet again I clutched my fists standing idle having to
Watch her go through it all one by one. Pairing up with
devils who knew not her beauty, making her miserable
through greed and desire with no regard for the woman
I cherish.

Is it any wonder I occasionally went mad yet swallowing
it all for myself? I didn’t want part in it, I didn’t want to be
like them, so cruel and selfish, and through wanting to see
her smile I gladly chose the sideline to which led me down
this path where upon that fateful hour, with that final hurdle
just ahead we took that little step towards eternity together
where only now do I realize, how glad I am and how right I
was to sit from the sideline, taking pleasure simply in her smile.

Even after all that hurt just seeing her smile could make me
glad of each moment, happy just to see her smile regretful
not of a single moment as I look back with tearful joy
able to cherish the woman I love the way I know she
deserves with all my heart.

Tortuous Melody

The melody I play on this piano
Never have I felt so depressed
The lyrics speak of hidden things
Only you may see
And yet, you’re not here

A soft beginning speaks of soft caresses
Of light nothings and slight kisses
Motioning towards happier days
When this mesmerizing song
Would not haunt my sleep
Ripping happy dreams to shreds

Then the steps between the notes get longer
Dark echoes resonate from my left hand
Small pinpricks of hope from my right
Why must my hands continue to play?
Hour upon hour they flicker
Along black and white rending my mind in two

My eyes betray me
While my hands play this tearful melody
They roam this room
Catching every inch of anger-induced shattered glass
Each piece acting as a mirror reflecting my woeful existence
My water stained cheeks and dead eyes

Through the mist of tears and sunlight
A flash of colour in a monochrome world caught my eye
A delicate, dying purple lilac
Lay before the door
When had that beauty invaded my world?
Who would have thought to do such a thing?

My hands froze above the keys
My eyes were locked on those flowers
Memories invaded my mind sewing it back together
Memories that finally freed me from my curse
I finally stopped playing that tortuous melody…

One Last Time

Lately the steps we have taken lead us astray
We are compelled by this eleventh hour
Feelings fading into endless doubt
Forcing us to make our last stand

Reaching out this one last time
Making or breaking this mirror of love
Playing the melody that once drew us close
Testing the mettle of our fragile hearts

Taking part in that mesmerizing dance
Drenching ourselves in steaming passion
A purple haze of sweat and pleasure
Melting together in their flames

The song soon meets its conclusion
Ending in failure, the emotion is lost
Succeeding in burning our final bridge
Left on opposing sides of silence again

We quietly part ways never to look back
Just the regret of losing hold
Slipping through our fingers like sand
Our time has come to an end

Purple Pride

as the action roared and lights beamed,
out of the gridiron came the big purple power back,
as he ran through ones reached out heavy arms,
he kept going trembling over the white and green,
down on the frozen tundra fall's a fellow with a thunderous crack!
the other team slowed up as this was a eminent alarm,
for it wasn't worth scoring to see what he just sadly saw,
down to the his knee the purple uniform went,
as he knew the pain would of been worse inside,
no score is worth losing a fellow friend,
sitting upon the green is this guys purple pride,
waiting, hoping, that the person shows motion and sign of breathing as none has happened yet,
"The ball is in his hand now " the competitor just said,
since down on his knee he began to god he thus pray,
was he did the other began to show alertness as he did lay,
the Medical crew now knew,
that he will make it through,
as for the purple uniformed player and his crew,
they were glad he was alright and going to make it through,
but the crew was upset at the one on his knee,
cause if he scored it would of been the first time,
yes the first time they would of scored all year,
even though they were losing 70 to 0 you see,
the proud purple cheered the winning guys on to victory,
for there losing wasn't worth losing opponent's life and that is why hidden inside, is a conscience with special purple pride!

Poem 6

Spoiler
She breathes so hard, so heavy,
sweat dripping down her every pore,
a low grumble reverberating through the walls,
causing ripples in time herself.
Boom, boom, boom, boom,
is that the sound of her heart?
A space so closed, so tight,
she's wet from the sweat,
the sweat of animals,
savages, dancing away in the night.
As the melody begins to build,
step by step her world spins,
minutes, hours, flowers, sounds,
green, blue, purple, brown,
permeating the heavens in sight,
with their beautiful bright light,
time moves faster, faster,
the stars are brighter, her feet feel lighter,
she flies and flies to space itself,
dancing with the stars, the light surrounds her,
the melody begins to slow,
time slows down, the stars slow down,
the savages slow down,
then silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
A silence lingering, waiting to explode,
waiting to break the tension it caused,
the savages lay still, hungry for battle,
their hands in the air, waiting for the beast.
Boom,
the animals are teased by the break in silence,
but in silence they wait.
A sudden crash emerges from the left,
everybody's attention shifts,
another crash from the right,
then again from the left,
crashes come in from every direction,
closer and closer to the middle,
about to crush the savages in its vice-grip,
but before the enemy's crashes could reach,
the beast tore through the crashes,
and granted pleasurable salvation for its followers,
invading the minds of many,
giving them eternal ecstasy.
If only a mirror were there,
to show she was not in space,
but in a realm of her own.

Poem 7

Were lies thy Hearth

Oh mirror of my mind
please mirror of my heart
be so kind and help me find
the place what I call my hearth

a melody had been song
for a place we will belong
walking with these steps so small
afraid a stone will couse us to fall

her eyes so mesmerizing
you could have been drowning
an hour in her presence is nothing
you can't even stop looking

purple are her eyes that cast a spell
to make our world at times a living hell
so were does your hearth lay
mine lies for sure by thy
