Waiting for You

Again I find myself wandering.
A cloudless, moonless night,
The blackest of skies encapsulates me.
Strangely it is not depressing.
I'm drawn to the safety in the solitude, the isolation.
The quiet and cold is never threatening.

And then I see your picture.

Oh! Emotions long forgotten are renewed!
Love, passion, devotion, motivation!
A smile forms like I once used to smile.
I will never forget the joy and passion and warmth you taught me.

Back then,
I was always waiting.
Always waiting for you.

I waited until our lives carried us down separate paths. I waited.
And it became so that you would remain forever close at heart, but far at hand.

Alas, your image has brought back my deepest sorrows and most loathsome regrets.
But I am clear-headed now.
I can finally put my trifles into perspective.

I will never let fear tie me down again
so that time might steal my passion and dreams away!

It has all renewed me!
The sky is filled with the life and warm company of all the bright stars.
And the sun brings in a day of new beginnings.
Again you have taught me what no one else could! Fearlessness and confidence that I may take with me to every day and every challenge.

Thank you,
I will never forget you.
And I will never again be waiting

(for you).

So my manager called me after she left last night. She said there was a 5 dollar mega millions ticket that got printed on accident. The mega millions tickets can't be voided. She told me where she left it and said she was going to buy it, but she had forgotten and left. So she told me to just stick it in the drawer and leave a note for the book keeper. So I did, but a bit later I thought... maybe this was meant to happen. So I had my other cashier come over and I had him sell it to me.
The drawing is tonight. 40 million jackpot.

I'm just hoping I didn't use up all my luck when a few years ago I found an unscratched scratch ticket in the parking lot while working. It was a $200 winner.

I wasn't sleeping very well and I had a crazy dream.
It started it out as me and my friend and some other guy in the special forces going on missions to assassinate nazis. We kept escaping from them and taking them down over and over and were really good. Then Neo from the Matrix came and was working for the nazis and I was totally more skilled then he was and I was all like, I thought you were the one. But I couldn't kill him I just kept running. Then I stoll a soldiers shotgun and starting taking out nazis and running and neo cornered me in a field of poisonous plants and the only way I could find out was to build a raft. And then some girl from my work was there working with me and my boss and this kid I don't like were on another team trying to beat us to escape. So I had to use all my survival techniques I learned from survivorman and man vs wild to build this raft with this girl from my work who was kind of useless. And so we built a raft and this river had huge wave for some reason and poisonous jelly fish and we got away but the raft broke half way back to town. I abandon the girl because she was useless came across a public beach restroom.

I found two quarters and was so happy to take a shower, but then this indian dentist and 3 mexicans came from around the corner and were adjusting the mexicans new hdtv to sync with his iphone to play movies. And they were watching Fairytail in spanish, but it had english subs so I was watching it. And the dentist offered to fix and clean my teeth for free. Then I got to brag about my TV to the mexican for a while and I left the useless girl to try and find a way back to the city.

I hiked up the mountain and got into the city where I stoll a guys bike to get to the other side. And I kept evading cops and stuff and when I got there the guy I stoll it from was there but I smooth talked my way out of him getting mad. Then I kept getting trapped by willy wonka from the chocolate factory in an arena with normal citizens and he would relentlessly unleash monsters and demons and chimeras to kill everyone. But Lucy from Fairytail was there and we started working together. I was the only one smart enough to have a gun and was killing all the monsters, but they were still much stronger then me, I was more cunning though. But I only had 2 clips. Fortunately Lucy told me she new copy magic and kept copying my clip so I could keep taking the monsters out. And I kept using my cunning to escape traps from Willy wonka. Willy Wonka finally gave in and was like alright you are just too good, I won't bother you anymore. Apparently this meant we were no longer running from anyone and could hide out from the war. Then suddenly Lucy was this other girl from my work and my friend was back too. We were searching for a way home.
We stopped at my garage where the car I'm working on is, and this girl from my work said she would see whats wrong with it. And she drove it around and told me exactly everything I needed to do to fix all the problems and I was soo happy about that. Then we went back to her place and she just was talking on the phone and I was kinda pissed so I thanked her and I felt like I had conquered the nazis and willy wonka and done everything good I wanted to do and left to get my haircut and finally get it done right. Then I woke up.
-oh I almost forgot before I went back into the city to get my haircut I stabbed Willy wonka in the back because he was **** nuts and I was so mad at him.

Two things.

I was watching this video called what the bleep do we know.
So this physicist said something that blew my ****ing mind.

"There is a great mystery called the mystery of the direction of time. There's a certain sense in which the fundamental laws of physics, which we have, don't make any interesting distinctions between past and future. For example, its a puzzle from the stand point of the fundamental laws of physics why we should be able to remember the past and not be able to have the same epistemic access to the future. Its a puzzle from the standpoint of these laws why we should think something like, by acting now we can effect the future, but not the past..."

Think about that, why are we so sure that time works the way we are predisposed to think it does. Knowing that space time is a flexible crazy thing, why shouldn't we be able to affect the past or perceive the future??!

OK TWO:

Now get this...
We...
Humans...
are going to search for life by setting a ship assail in liquid methane seas and a nuclear powered hot air balloon afloat on... TITAN.
That is one of Saturn's moons. SATURN.
A planet that holds an average distance of 762,700,000 miles from earth. That is 312,000 times the distance from New York to LA. And would take 1243 years to get there traveling at freeway speeds.
Not to mention before the probe even gets there someone on earth can actually accurately calculate how to make it past the asteroid belt and into Saturn's orbits and then once to Saturn they can even precisely throw it into a calculated orbit around Titan. How crazy is that? Well apprently not crazy enough. Before getting to Titan they plan to send the probe sling shotting around several of Jupiter's moons to take some data before it heads to its destination. And don't forget the probes are going to be equipped with equipment that will be able to detect signs of life and we on earth will be receiving and interpreting that data from 700 million miles away.

Is that not the craziest shit you ever heard?

Aki-Chan asked me if I was applying for bachelors programs for spring quarter, which I could be doing, and well it turned into this blog.

Well it...

Aki-Chan asked me if I was applying for bachelors programs for spring quarter, which I could be doing, and well it turned into this blog.

Well it is definitely the most logical and probably lucrative choice I could make to start applying for bachelor's programs. But something is wrong. My heart's just not in it. I having some sort of internal conflict I don't fully understand. There's a lack of joy or sense of necessity. Maybe my life is just too easy right now. I used to work hard in school to impress others. I've always known I was smart and could do anything so I guess I've always kind of felt like whats the point in trying to impress myself; I already know what I'm capable of. Why did I do this? Because I was young and in love. Because I wanted respect from my peers, I wanted to feel exceptional. But I've grown out of that and now its like why am busting my ass now? To impress myself, or a bunch of bureaucrats from the College Board? I don't care about that. I want to do something exceptional. You know it reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite persons:
"The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education." - Albert Einstein

I don't just want a job. I've always felt like I should develop my skills so I can help society, what the hells the point of developing software or websites? Sure its a little fun, but I'd rather die working on something truly meaningful than live a glamorous life as a wealthy computer engineer.
I'm deeply troubled with humanity and the plight of our planet. But the struggle feels hopeless. There are so many greedy people and so many gears of war and industry turning it feels like we're already doomed.
Its a combination of overpopulation, but more so, over consumption and pollution.
I wish I could do something. There has never ever been something that I couldn't do if I was determined to do it and I feel like I shouldn't waist that potential. Yet there is so little one person can do it feels hopeless.
The only solution I can see is scientific advancement. Science and technology has always intrigued me. Its the power of a single man's work (well or the collaboration of a few brilliant teams) and a single invention or discovery that can change the face of humanity. Its those breakthroughs we're looking for. Particularly its the advancement in physics that I find most fascinating. But in the end is it still hopeless? How will 7 billion people from a million different cultures get the message that we need to change are daily lives and make sacrifices in order to save the environment before its too late? :\
How in the Hell are we going to stop the greedy nations and industries from doing lucrative things that happen to be bringing about our own destruction?

But maybe I'm just being idealistic. If it is really hopeless than maybe I should just live a selfish shallow life and find profit and cheap joy and be the exact consumer ***** who is the problem with this world until I die and let future generations suffer the consequences. Just exactly like humanity has done for thousands of generations.
Its catching up with us though. We've gone too far and we've spread too much and there will be someday that no technology or fix will be able to save us. What I fear most is maybe we've already even reached that point of no return.

Thinking about it fills me with anger and shame and sadness and it all feels so hopeless that I'm just doing nothing right now, which makes me feel doubly more shameful, angry, and depressed. GAH

I came across the Anime rendition of their album Discovery a month ago and since then I have just gone crazy for their music.
The anime is called Interstella 5555 and I got Umagon to host it here on AC. I recommend it, its really cool... and its something different.
http://www.animecrazy.net/interstella-5555-movie/

But After I saw that I went and bought the Discovery album and was listening to that nonstop for like 2 weeks.
I've picked up a few more of their older songs that I really like also this week.
They make such awesome music.

Two of their most popular songs off the Discovery album that some of you may know are

One More Time
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gN2hntZBIUQ"]YouTube - Daft Punk - One More Time (Original) [High Quality][/ame]

and Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cYWfq--Nw"]YouTube - Daft Hands - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger[/ame]

But off that album, less known, but two of my favorites are

Voyager
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dkik97YkiE0"]YouTube - Daft Punk - Voyager[/ame]

and Something about us- such a shag song lool, but good. >.>
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LW2FoT0Wks8"]YouTube - Daft Punk - Something About Us[/ame]

An older song that was popular that I really like the music video to is Around the World.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9MszVE7aR4"]YouTube - Daft Punk - Around The World[/ame]

And this other song I found has the sickest beat ever, I love it, its called Da Funk. :D
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z014I7FvDCo"]YouTube - Daft Punk - Da Funk[/ame]

Anyway everyone should also love Daft Punk- there music is great. I hope some people try my suggestions... at least see the Anime you Anime crazed people :D

Well I've been pretty busy lately.
I got my project car running. No one probably has heard of my project car. Its a 1988 Toyota Celica Turbo Alltrac. In order for Toyota (or other manufactures) to race a car in the World Rally Cup they used to have to release a certain amount to the public. Like 5000-10000 world wide. The US got like 1500-2500 of them. So they are rare and high performance cars. It also happens to be one of 79 IMSA editions (which was basically a trim level, but still). Because I liked the car so much and it was so unique I bought it for: hopes of restoring it for preservation's sake, to learn about working on cars, and to have a cool, fun to drive, capable car. It was not running for a year and I slowly got enough work done on it between work and school to get it running this summer. Its running great now and I'm also learning to drive a manual on it.
This is an old pic, from right after I bought it, but only thing I've changed is I've cleaned it extensively :p

Other stuff:
Um, September 1st was my B-day. No one noticed, not like I'm really shocked, I'm not an incredibly well known active forum member. Went to the Mariners game over at Safeco Field in Seattle, Its a really nice stadium, I never realized. We won too, was a good game even though baseball is pretty boring. The best part was this guy near home plate we could hear from way up in the stands. He was shouting "FIIGGGGGGGGGIINNNNNNNNSS" every time some guy on the angels was at bat named Figgins.

More stuff:
Over the last few weeks I've been developing a map for the game Counter Strike: Source.
Heres a few pics of the WIP. Its almost done these are from an older version with bad lighting and less detail than I have now... the latest version is on my friends comp a few miles away so I can't take new pics unfortunately:

Um more stuff?:

I'm so sick of this crappy router I have. The wireless is horribly unreliable, the configuration interface is terrible, it randomly blocks certain apps for no reason even if I try to open ports that the apps need, which it makes kind of impossible to do. I'm so sick of dealing with it.
**** this linksys WRT54G

Does anyone know a specific model of router that has a great configuration interface and reliable wireless? And doesn't freaking randomly block stuff for no reason.

And its not just this router, 2 of my friends have other models of this linksys router and they get the same retarded problems.

and I tried updating the firmware >:0

I just bought a Zen X-Fi, and its so cool. I've been a fan of Creative Mp3 players for a long time.

Anyway It can play video, and the screen is surprisingly crisp, on a 2.5" screen I can even clearly read subtitles! Yay- I'm taking anime with me now wherever I go now... It Is kind of a ***** to convert files though :s

It also came with some awesome canal buds, the audio quality is amazing too. It also has 16gb memory + an SD card slot :0 and can transfer files wirelessly over the network ^^
Oh and you don't have to use crappy software or special file formats, its plug and play, drag and drop!!!! And an entire converted anime episode is only like 56mb :-)

The pictures I took don't do the screen justice, it looks much better in person.

Moon Child

Always dreaming open-eyed
and late into the night.
He is beckoned by her seductive glow,
and wanders out to meet her.

A black thin air licks his face-
it is all the more alluring!
Dancing down the vacant lane
shadowed by ivory limbs of maple.

Running freely toward her watchful gaze
a mid-summer's breeze spatters light and shadow.
But through the clash of dark and dim
he greets her with a jaunty grin.

Thirsting more than ever now
he reaches out beyond what he had hoped.
Released, he watches the city lights dissolving
as they form a cluster far beneath.

Without fear and full of wonder
he sails for her embrace.
And once at last as he meets her
she welcomes with a dusty kiss.

Captivated by her ambiance
he tours about the craters.
But as the blue pearl slipped out of sight
his heart began to waver.

Always dreaming open-eyed
his mind began to wander.
As he watched the open sky
he too was watched a yonder.

Twinkling amongst the milky jumble
the crimson maiden called his name.
How he wished to acquaint her with his step
But by time his lids were falling softly.

As he lie and reflected on the eve
his heart was full of sorrow.
so he promised truly to hold his dream
for no later than tomorrow!
