Getting Rejected

Posted 09-12-2011 at 06:33 AM by darkdoll25

For some people they just seclude themselves in some dark corner of their minds and just..plain sulk. Like the world just ENDED and all their feelings literally, 'crashed and burned'. And I just had this happen today actually. You see, I just got accepted into being a proofreader for this scanlation group that does AMAZING work and updates daily. Suddenly, I got my first assignment, and of course I was so nervous. After (in my opinion) horrible proofreading (which I didn't know at that time), they replied and said that I wasn't quite ready for it. I realized that I wasn't doing my best and probably did it half-heartedly and also I was burdening the group who worked fast and in HQ all the time. When I got that email, I felt as if everything just stopped. This was the first time I ever got rejected before, because back then, I hadn't really ever tried to reach out and do something. My feelings were very confused at that time. Sadness, frustration (at my self), and then lastly, understanding. After much thinking, I decided to be so freaking perfect at my proofreading, that nobody could even tell that it was a 13 year old girl who did it. I then messaged my other scanlation group leader and told them the exact same thing (yes I was at the time working for two groups technically). Main point is, rejection can have opposite reactions some times. And sometimes, rejection can help improve you. That's why they say, learn from your mistakes. I certainly did.

Have a good day everyone, I hoped you weren't bored from my message.

It is all in how you handle dissapointment, is a part of life and we do indeed learn from mistakes. People can sulk or they can choose to take a positive way and learn from it. The only ones who truly fail or those who choose to stay down and not get back up and keep going.
