Yama no Kami
Posted 01-22-2009 at 11:20 PM by gadnihasj
gadnihasj; diminutive of 'ganij', word stem: 'gadniha'
some facts about my people:
the gadniha are a people that look human, but are breath-takingly beautiful, and often held responsible for spiriting away humans. thus i came to the conclusion that the japanese counterpart could only be the mountain gods, "yama no kami".
the gadniha hold their own cattle that rarely go out in the human world, but it has happened. they have their own lands that few humans have ever by. it's in another world, so it can be difficult to get there if you don't know how..
they are known to protect the place where they live, but if humans disturb their peace, the gadniha will surely make life uncomfortable for them. and if they are ever seen moving away from a place, it's a sign that something bad will happen there soon. once in a while the gadniha might borrow things from the humans, but they always give it back after some time.
the gadniha are known in the sami culture in the north of norway. further south there are the "hulder", known in the norwegian culture, but the hulder are only female. well, there are probably males too but they never show themselves for humans.
if your tired of looking for your dream boy or girl, you'll definately find one among the gadniha. if you can only find the entrance to our world..
