Police Ride Along....tales from the awesome land of law enforcement. Part 1

It starts at around 9:30pm at night, my ride a long is a good friend of mine who is a police service aid. The first stop after he clocks in, is the copy room were we proceed to make 25 copies of various apartment complexes for the officers. Next we go to briefing, the officers are handed a crime of the week after being told what to look out for.
From there the Sarg calls us out to the parking lot confusing everyone. Turns out theres a surprise inspection tonight. Only thing my friend gets scolded on his the fact his boots weren't shined. All in all its about 11:15pm by the time we leave the station. First stop is coffee at a gas station. We do various patrols though some neighborhoods, while on the free way we stop to assist a transportation police officer who had pulled over a car with a rather large rap sheet and are on our way to our next patrol zone. It is a very quite night not many calls on dispatch. Though we do get a call to assist in DUI offense
, we seize a pick up and do a search finding various drug related objects and a pellet gun. The officers in searching the vehicle tested varius substances to see if it were positive for cocaine but it wasn't all we found was some mj, though probably not enough to charge. Back on the road again we do more patrols.
