Hopeless

I sit where happiness meets dispair.
Twistedly grinning at those who claim to care.
Wondering how they see with those eyes, Eyes so wicked and filled with lies.
The first smile was what started it all,
The first time I saw hope in it all.
But as we sat with our wicked grin,
they cut the tread before we were in.
Forever able to see such wonderous things,
Not sure if seeing and never getting is the worst of the stings.
So with one final laugh we take a step back,
As that world fades and my sight is returned to black
