so im kind of new to the anime scene. ive read manga for a while but ive been watching anime for only a year or so now (if not less). nevertheless, my anime-obsessed friend recommends me titles every now and then- recently it was High school of the dead.
taking away all the ecchi elements and fanservice (whats the difference between those two anyway..?) the anime was really good- good story with characters which at times had to deal with very realistic human problems (beside the zombies), something viewers could identify with.
though i found it so hard to watch at times because of the elements i mentioned previously...
what did you guys think of the anime? what do you guys think of ecchi in general?

It don't really bother me if it is ecchi as long as it has a good story but then I also like yaoi so sexual content does not bother me, what does bother me is if it has no story and borders on being animated porn. If it has a great plot and they can demonstrate real emotions between the characters then I have no problem with it.

well i've been watching anime over 5 years now and if u ask what I think of Anime in general is simply this....u will wade through over 1000 titles of garbage and find at least 20 u really like...but it's worth it and u learn new things about life and different perspectives of people...it's been a great journey for me and seeing that most anime finish in manga form then ur in for some disappointment but ur journey will be incredible!!!!...O and the difference between fan service and ecchi is this....Fan service:scene of interest mostly sexual that has absolutely nothing to do with the story but fans want to see it....echhi:Most of the time means nudity or extremely sexy content!!!!Posted 09-08-2011 at 09:14 AM by AnbuKakashi -
I haven't watched High School of the Dead, but I've seen a few Ecchi, and it's not that bad, usually. Yeah, sometimes it's unnecessary in the scene, but it doesn't obstruct the plot either. ,i read up on it before i got it and i knew there were fanservice in it even though i dont like fanservicebut i was gonna let it slide and try and ignore that part i just bought it becouse i like resident evil and i thought it was nice to see an anime like that
.
But when i got a quarter of the way through it was really starting to annoy me but i kept watching till half way through and i couldn`t take it anymore
.

it's a great anime and manga! it has a good pace, never making you bored..
i usually don't mind ecchi stuff and the like, but it was so overused to the extent of abuse that i couldn't stop laughing when ever i saw the girls breasts jump from the slightest movement + the ridiculous 'Boing' sound effect XDPosted 09-08-2011 at 12:30 PM by Animegeek -
