**SPOILERS** An Ungraceful End To A Man Who Thought Himself A God. **SPOILERS**
So... late last week I finally got around to finishing the Death Note Series... I have to say that I was Very, VERY disappointed. I had assumed from the beginning that Light was eventually going to lose it all, But I never thought it would be so ugly.
First I have to say that it seemed to me that after L ate it, Light became much much dumber. I mean when N came on the scene Light didn't even seem to have even half the brain he had Vs. L. He made stupid mistakes and never thought more tha one or two steps ahead of time.... not something I would expect from the mastermind behind the destruction of L. I could be wrong... what do you guys think.
I also wanted to say that Near & Mello didn't seem half the detective that L was. Do you think they traped Light because light screwed up... I mean it seemed that the writers needed to wrap up the series so they had someone beat Light with the stupid stick while we weren't looking. Near & Mello didn't seem to catch anything beyond the norm, and How could he pick up on the trail L left when all of his research was deleted at death? I dunno any Ideas?
Finally, to the thing that seems so out of place I almost stopped watching the final episode. Light got caught in a child like trap and lost it. Now I know it had to come to an end but Light, Kira, The killer of L, the manipulator of the world, the cool duck who could walk into a kira investigation while being kira lost his shit. Did the writers forget who Light was? Did they decide that he was in character through the entire show and hell, why not let him act like a totally different person in the end to end it, rather than resolve the plot.
As far as I'm concerned that episode isn't the true end, someone who had never seen a single episode of Death Note took over and ended it. I will wait for the original team to return and finish the sries... In fact the last ten episodes could use to be redone...

I have never been sooo disapointed in an ending as I was for Death Note!!! They should have made it last at least one more season!! Most importantly.....His death should have been more glorious or even at the very least more honorable......He got over confident in his.......actually in everything. To cocky....cried like a little beeyatch and got, got.........

ok well i posted before but something happened so i'll type it again...tho it took forever
Ok ur not wrong on any of it (trust me i've watched it twice and read the manga) Yes Light did get stupider after killing L(why did they have to kill him? T.T) but thats probably because of the 6 years without opposition between L's death and the appearance of Near and Mello, besides that Near and Mello had ways of thinking that were different from L's. Yes Near and Mello were not great compared to L, Near admits it in the end saying "together Mello and I can surpass L but seperatly it would be impossible*(or something like that)The only reason that Near thought that it was the next L(light) was because during L's time the killings would stop from time to time or slow down. When Light took over the killings continued at an advanced pace. As for Light acting crazy in the end, It was only a matter of time. The human pysche can only handle so much stress and killing adds alot of stress just look at people who return from war. He may have been able to handle it before but upon getting caught and thinking "dam its over, i've been caught" he snapped and lost all rational thought. But there was too many things that could've happened to affect the ending, In the manga Matsuda theorizes that Near used to Death Note to control Mikami and cause Light to lose and mikami would later die in prison. As for the remake of the last ten episodes it wouldnt matter, they base it after the manga and based on what i saw they were pretty much in sync. I suggest u read the manga for the (in my opinion) better ending with a more thorough ending with an actual postlogue *sigh* that took quite a while... |

I mean for christ's sake... one of the dumb cops caught him up... Jeeze, L said Light was Kira and no one bought it, but then with Light posing as L he got all tripped up by people that supposedly believed in him... even after his dad cleared him on his death bed... I'm not even that dumb and I gave myself a total of three days before capture if I went against L...

oh and the reason for him getting caught was for one damn reason the shinigami that looked like a ball told them that the 2 extra rules at the back are fake, thus Light was caught |

He snapped.. that's it, he was cocky and thought he could beat Near easily... so he barely tried.
Near picked up on it and beat him down. |
