Hell yeah! The Gods of Metal 2009 this year was held in my city, and of course, like a good journalist I had no choice but to go there. I mean, how could I call myself a journalist if I were not to go to such a great event in my own city? Obviously it was all about work, it's not like I've been waiting for the Gods of Metal to come here for 10 years :D

One hell of a concert: 2 different stages, the whole day of Metal. Surprisingly good the opening by Black Dahlia Murder... I never really liked them, but they performed damn good, a lot better than Static X and Cynic which followed them.

It sucks that Saxon defected, no one knows why, so Tarja got more time to perform. I don't like her solo career... but when she started "Whishmaster" I had no choice but to run to the stage. She still can use her voice, gotta give her that.

Blind Guardian played great: Hansi Kursch (typo, damn german vocalist) was a completely different person than the last time he performed here. He's almost deaf, but he did some great shit, I didn't even hope for something that good.

But really... I had to change my mind on Dream Theater... I always considered them annoying narcysist guys, but shit... they performed the whole "awake" ablum (15 years anniversary from the realease of that album) and didn't make a single mistake. They cut off the boring parts with endless solos and technical stuff and made a real hell of live show. I'm usually bored when I can't sing/scream nor fight/push/pull/hit and all stuff I don't know how to translate properly that people do during metal live show, but I really had no choice but to clap my hands when they finished.

Slipknot ended the event... they sucked, but that's nothing new. It was impossible to understand what song they were playing, and looking at 9 people doing what 4 of them could easily do... well, it's annoying. Oh, well, I don't really like them anyway :p

The only thing I didn't like about this Gods of Metal was the ridiculous number of 14 years old. I mean, what the hell? Get out of here, this is not the place for you! Too bad all slipnkot fans are that young.

Indeed a great event, lots of beer and music... music and beer... and surprisingly a high number of hot chicks... well, they shouldn't be there, like 14 years old kids... but I didn't find them annoying at all :p

Something I wrote tonight... I couldnt sleep, so at least i did something a bit useful
I dunno why this strange character made me feel this way... well it's not like I usually understand the way i feel anyway :p

enjoy :D (ps: my english SUCKS so if ya find a horrible mistake just forgive me, it's not my language)

Kagura

She longed for freedom / Her heart in a grasp
Born out of evil / In a moonless night
Since the day she was born / She betrayed, deceived
Till the day she was torn, / Any day she lived

But at sunset she was crying / Alone in her heart
Feeling freedom dying / Aborted from the start

Born inside a cage / no friends by her side
Her heart full of rage / not queen of her life
She stood full of pride , / cold and strong
While inside / She knew well it was wrong

But at sunset she was crying / Alone in her heart
Feeling freedom dying / Aborted from the start

She didn’t want power / Or pity, or forgiveness
Never denied her sins / She cursed her loneliness
She fell in love / even if she had not her heart
Scared by that feeling which could tore her apart

She fought, she stood still / To protect her friends
Her soul forged by steel / She faced her end
And in the end, crying / The heartbeat, so sweet!
She died smiling, / her chest burning heat

But at sunset the breeze / cries near her beloved man
His heart doesn’t freeze / looking back at her last smile

It’s up to him to fight the pain…
…So she didn’t die in vain…

The wind… still blows… free… and it will never stop…

Ulysses and Penelope

This is a tale of a man and his path
Both incredible, greater than others.
A story of bravery, death and sorrow
Of a fearless man and his own fate
Ten years fighting, ten days of sack
Ten days for get back home, ten years for him.
He went through unknown lands, hurt by rage
His mind was on the past and beloved life…

Time to live or time to die
Time to laugh and time to cry
Not only light and not even dark
Life is a railway thorough infinity
Time to think or time to go
Time to remember what we used to do
Past and future, up and down
Useless words as winter fog

At home he was waited by wife and son
While his wife’s contenders ate her food
She deceived them all waiting for him
Hoping for her husband to came back (for her)
Ten years of waiting, waiting for him
While the other kings got back in few days
She just came on the beach to look at the sea
Searching for hopes in the empty deep…

Time to hold and time to kiss
Time to fulfil everyone’s wish
Time to look out of my window
Time to desire: how I wish you were here!
Wind I pray, I beg to you
Take my words and carry it away
Wind I pray, I beg to you
Bring him my breath, bring him my love

I’m waiting for you ( x3)
Just to hold you close to me

You’re so far but yet so close
Tell me could you feel my love
Turning in my empty bed
Where are you, oh where are you?

It’s said don’t remain, but at once leave
Don’t know where he went, nobody return
Maybe went through lands, or on nameless seas
It’s a secret and in Tyresia it will sleep..

ASSASSIN CHAPTER...

It seems my pc will allow me to post by now, so here's the new chapter, ready for long time and so I added something more. Enjoy:

ASSASSIN CHAPTER 4: TROUBLES

“Are you tense?” asked me Caleb.
“I’m not” I answered “Not tense” I repeated looking at the horizons “I’m quiet”
“You’re always quiet!” replied incensed him “But this time it’s not: you’re… tense!”
“I’m not”
“Yeah, you are”
“I’m telling you I’m not!”
“As you wish” Caleb snorted, standing up “This cart is really boring: you’re enjoying more your horse for sure”
“Wanna try?”
The earl ordered us to be the new rivals of those strange merchants. Caleb was to be the new trader anxious to make money, having me as a guard. The cart was full of food that we had to sell down market, in order to make our rivals irritate. There a collaborator working as a smith was waiting for us, selling weapons at lower price to own that trade. At that point we should have make the merchants enough pissed to be warned or even scolded. We wanted to use it to find out something about the situation. To help us, the earl ordered one of his minions in the city garrison just if numbers were too bad. I didn’t worry for something like that, but it’s better to never say never, they say.
“Relax” he suggested me, jumping from the cart “There’s no need to be like that. The real party hasn’t started yet, and your fun… you’ll have it for sure”
Ten minutes later he was still talking, while I tied the reins on the bridge house.
“Wait, what are you doing?” he asked suddenly.
Slowly and methodically I drawn all my blades cleaning and polishing them. It lasted for half an hour, keeping my mind busy during the journey.
“Tell me why” said intrigued Caleb “A good blade is what you need to work, as I always say. However you bring with you an entire arsenal of stings that are worth killing a lame dog and a hypochondriac hag”
I simply smiled, picking up my twin knives, my longest weapons.
“Look: these two are awesome for slashing beard for breakfast, or butter” said the round “But what about a man?”
“There are less than eight millimetres between your throat and the larynx” I explained quietly “My shortest knife is well enough for that”
“For the love of all gods, you can’t kill every single opponent with a hit on his throat!”
“I have my throwing knife too” I smiled “I use them to wound my opponent in non vital spots, to make an opening, or I can throw them directly”
“You are a beast” Caleb laughed “But we’ll see if you’ll be so cold against a real man”
“You don’t have to wait that much” I murmured “We have guests”
“How can you say that?” asked him, looking at the two horsemen approaching us “They can be travellers just like us”
“They’ve been after us for three whole hours” I replied “Give me back that horse”
“Why? We can at least…”
“No we can’t” I interrupt him “You are a merchant, remember?”
Caleb snorted and got back to the cart, leaving me the animal. After a while, the horsemen were in front of us, staring and blocking the path.
“Who are you?” asked the first, most likely weak minded “You are not from this country”
“Let me tell you” began Caleb, jumping down the cart “I’m Caleb the Round, Cazoo for my friends!” he bowed “And who are you? There are here some bandits? So many to have guards hired? Well if you wanna help, my friend here, he is good at fighting! Or maybe…”
The two horsemen stood stunning, surprised and overwhelmed by that endless river of words, looking each other tensely.
“As you said yourself” replied the second one as Caleb had to breath “This is not a friendly country. So you’ll better go away”
“What are you talking about?” started again the friend of mine “That’s not true! I have a friend here and he didn’t told me about it! He only tell me about the food, which is delicious…”
“I don’t give a crap about your friends!” bawled the first one “Here there’s nothing for you, and you’ll re-gret it if you’ll…”
He never ended the sentence. In a quick move I took one of my knives from my belt and got the eye of his horse. Slowly I dismounted and approached him.
“It’s really hot, here” I whispered “Can we move forward now?”
“You should have been wiser” said Caleb sitting quietly, looking at the horsemen running away.
“No one died: I’ve been wise”
“Sure” snorted “Now we are officially people-to-kill-immediately, and we’ll never be able to investigate”
“It’s better to investigate with knives than doing it with our ears only” I replied “They’ll most likely charge to us, and we’ll use their mercenaries to understand something”
“Don’t overdo it” Caleb warned me “You’re here to learn, not to make the blood rain”
“And what do you wanna teach me?”
“Good manners are the best” answered him smiling “Don’t be so reckless and you’ll have your fun, kid”
“Being patient”
“Exactly: act patiently and use your brain, hide in the dark. If someone believe you’re an assassin, then nod, laugh and toast to your assassin job, so no one will believe you. If you’re in trouble, use the violence quickly and hide everything, and yourself too. An assassin act in the dark, but to have a great shadow hiding the assassin, the man have to be under a great light, over every guess”
“I wondered why you are the earl’s adviser” I replied “I guess that’s the answer”
“Of course, it’s a good way to talk with him face to face and to be known around. Only the earl’s advisers know we’re assassin, and they swear not to tell. And besides, no one else could believe a fat man like me to be the Royal assassin”
“The royal assassin? Aren’t you overdoing it?”
“You see” Caleb smiled “The earl was the royal assassin when he was young, and now I’m the earl’s as-sassin… it’s hard to believe it, but you’re a royal assassin too. You’re a little inexperienced, but time will do it”
“So we’re royal assassins… so we can’t be taken into custody?”
“Wrong, newbie” answered Caleb “We’re out of the law, we’re not wanted cause they don’t even know about us. If they find out… think yourself”
“So I have to hide?”
“Wrong” he corrected me “The same as before: let everyone see you, but no one to see the assassin”

“What a beautiful place”
I looked around, looking at the windy roads.
“Shouldn’t you sell your food to someone?” I asked “If so, you’ll have to low your price, or not even a mouse will buy it”
“Relax” said Caleb “We’re only in the first village, the city where to sell is far away from here”
“Sure” I unsheathed half of a knife “Here we’ll sell only steel: here’s a welcoming committee”
“How many of them?” asked him, without moving.
“I saw five of them” I answered looking discretely around us “They’re hiding between the houses, so can be far more that that. I don’t like it”
“Bandits don’t do something like that” nodded Caleb “It seems that’s how they set things here”
“So rivals don’t even approach the city”
“And no hearsays to deal with”
“So how could we have a hearsay?”
“Who knows?” wondered Caleb “Maybe it was a trap”
“Can I go?”
“If you want it that much” he smiled “Do as you wish: somehow, we have to pass”
I pushed my horse and picked up a small street. Finally hiding in the shadow, I waited silently, listening. Steps. I could hear it clearly. I walked to my right side.
Only two men, both armed to the teeth, were walking from shadow to shadow. Good, let’s begin. I jumped on a barrel, climbing up to a cornice, hiding in the shadow. Like a cat, I moved onto another cornice, looking at the two mercenaries. They were good, but not enough.
I hit the first one behind his neck, falling from higher. He didn’t even screamed, simply flopped down, fal-ling on the ground. The sound of his corpse hurting the soil made the other one aware of me. That one un-sheathed his sword and charged at me. In an instant, my two knives were in my hands, and I began the dance of death. His attacks stopped against my hilts, I jumped and moved around him, surprising him with a double fake, and finally cut his throat. I skipped back, avoiding the blood.
Two troubles gone.
After a few minutes I was on a roof. Under my place, the windy road was the only witness of a bizarre me-et: smiling quietly form the cart, Caleb was facing about ten horsemen, and I recognised the two that tried to stop us before. They were talking each other, while Cazoo was coming slowly, without looking at them. That stupid jerk didn’t want to blood his hands!
“Stop right now, you trader” said the boss, drawing his sword “You can’t pass: turn back and go away”
“Why?” asked Caleb, still smiling “I’m a straightforward merchant, I go where I wish”
Damn how I hated him: I was wrong, he wasn’t trying to avoid the blood. He couldn’t wait to kill, that bas-tard, just like me! I knew that flash of his eyes that well! Smiling, I took the short bow from my back.
“You have to be lost” said the horseman “The road stop here”
Suddenly, my horse went on, waddling to the cart. That stupid stallion! Every single eye focused on that beast. Angry for that outcome, the boss signed his minions to fan out.
“Now don’t cry and go away, fatty” other blades were unsheathed with a hiss “I promise you, you won’t pass through. Even if you’re really a straightforward merchant”
“How rude” I whispered.
“DON’T WASTE TIME AND SHOOT” said the voice.

Hi everybody this is the 3rd chapter of Assassin. It's still a preview, cuz I'm still waiting for Nicky to send me the corrections... probably the english is not correct, so I'll call it RAW like the unsubbed eps... ahahah I feel like dark posting and uploading ahahah...
It could be little boring so I'll try to post the 4th chap as soon as possible, but the anime work (the translation lol) is a lot more difficult than the manga work (Writing my italian sotyline lol)

Upload 2: Posting the right chapter after Nicky's help (thank you Nicky as always!)

So enjoy, chapter 3:

MISSION BRIEFING

“We have two news” said the earl “But first I wanna you all to look at another situation”
“Which one?” asked Giand, a landowner.
“Price. It’s rising everywhere” answered the earl.
“It’s been years” mumbled Caleb.
“You’re right, my round friend” smiled the earl “But we have a problem: they’re way too high”
“What?”
“I mean” answered the earl “This time there are some speculators that have been earning too much. They’re merchant, they trade food and weapons, and they gained great fame. They could be useful ally or terrible enemy, because they are the best trader of that stuff”
“You’re saying they have a corner on everything?” yelled Caleb “How’s that possible?”
“It seems that their rivals have strange diseases” explained the earl “That their friends disappear and their home burns way too often. I don’t like that stuff, because I settled rules and they’re not respecting them”
“Yeah” smiled Caleb “So they’re our enemy, right?”
“Precisely” the earl smiled back “They enjoy doing what they want, but I don’t want to. Not here. Want to do something?”
“My pleasure” answered the round “But you know, I can’t jump in and kill everybody, you understand?”
“I know, I know” the earl joked “You are a kind heart, and that’s not your style. And I know even that u would refuse such an act. That’s why you won’t go here alone”
“Really? Who will come with me?”
Both of them laughed, looking at my hideout “Bring the kid with you” said the earl “And make sure he learn something functional”
I came out smiling from the hole.
“I guess it was this idiot who suggested you to hide here” started the earl “He always…” he held, shocked.
“I guessed it was something like that” I whispered, landing behind them “It was way too easy there”
Someone leaped up , probably Giand: I was wearing my assassin outfit, black clothes with hood and boots. It was all made of a strange stuff, warm in winter and cold in summer, and made my movement almost soundless.
The earl removed the puppet from the wall “Did you even hide that here so we could see it?”
“Yeah… something like that” I whispered.
“As I said” added Caleb smiling “He is the best apprentice I’ve ever been. About the practical stuff… we’ll see it soon, I think”
“You’re right for sure” the earl turned away “Now come here kid, and you all too. Listen to me carefully”
Slowly, we get to the table, looking at the map disposed on the wood.
“Here’s our reign” began the earl, showing a part coloured in green “And here” he passed his hand on an-other point “Here’s the edge with the reign of Syriandil”
“Syriandil?” Caleb said “I don’t get it”
“Syriandil is changing his mind here” replied the earl “The new king is different from the old one, you all remember king Grant. Well, this king Benedict is like chalk and cheese, and he’s angry about how things are doing in his country”
“He shouldn’t” snorted Caleb “We called them ally when we could have conquered it long ago”
“Of course” replied smiling the earl “But the young Benedict is, basically, young. He’s full of passion, most likely he dream about a world of honour and goodness fighting evil and craps like that. What we care about, however, is that he’s changing his reign for good. He has revived the financial system and begun a trade with the reign of Basilaria in the north. And you all know that Basilaria is our enemy”
“And our lovely king wanna punish him for that?” smiled Caleb.
“Our lovely king” smiled the earl “Want to do what he should have done years ago, make a district of our reign named Syriandil. But he need a hand to work for him before his move”
“I figured it out” moaned the Round “And I don’t like it”
“So when you’ll finish your work with the merchants you’ll get there, on the edge”
“And we’ll do the same old things” finished Caleb “Scandals, problems, and maybe kill someone of us just to make pleased a war”
“Yeah, but one more thing” said the earl “That people are strange, not really with Syriandil, even not with us… they’re edge people, and don’t like to battle against someone like them… make sure they won’t be a problem”
“Well you gotta ask for that at the boy” laughed Caleb “He’s the one who like to kill, not me”
“No, we won’t be with you” replied the earl “I have to make him improve with you, but I can’t be without you both forever. He will come back here, and will come with me to the capital. You’ll get we all here after your job”
“He’ll came with you to Opwin and I’ll go in that desert? I guess I’ve been demoted”
“Of course” smiled the earl “Now come back here and let’s settle the second problem, which is the same as before: Syriandil”
“Bad news?”
“They’re changing everything. We’ll meet the new diplomat soon, and that’s the reason why we’re head-ing here” the earl take a breath “I don’t like it all: we don’t know a heck about what’s going on, and we don’t know what’s the relationship between Syriandil and Basilaria. We’re on the edge of a war, and the balance we made in ages of fights is going to be destroyed”
“Syriandil was nothing more than a bait” Giand said “Nothing more than a pretext to fight against Basi-laria. It can’t be a force in the battlefield”
“The old Syriandil no, of course” replied the earl “But the new one, two or three years by now, could be it. Then he’ll be the force, the one we will search for an alliance, the one we’ll knee before to win the war”
“So the king was right” mumbled Caleb “Hit before be hit, and strike down with one shot”
“Yeah, definitely. We’ll have to completely destroy Syriandil, nothing able to resist have to survive. Our relationship with Basilaria is going down again, and we have to strike down Benedict before that all begins again. And before they can join against us”
We all turned silent. Everyone in the hall was thinking about the consequences of that decision. Myself, I wasn’t. I had no interest in the power of a reign or another. That conspiracy was simply useless. Dead men have no ambitions. But the earl gave me the chance to use my death as a quality, and I wasn’t pissed of being an assassin. Even when I was thinking that I had no values, simply killing someone I was told… well, I was relieved of what was waiting for me. Because there was something waiting for me, most likely. Years later I’d have disliked it a little bit, but that’s a different story, and I was a different man. I don’t wanna talk about it now.
My training had begun almost a year before, when we started that mission. I was twenty. I trained in shifti-ness , and I made my body stronger and adjustable, making my movements and my balance perfect. I won-dered why, but the effects were awesome: I was able to run, jump and climb soundless.
Then I trained my weapons: here too at the beginning it was a training on my movements and on my re-flex, my fight skills. Now I could kill a man as easily as I could crush a bug. Of course, however, it was all training, nothing about real fight: every sword which scratched my neck was grasped by a friend, so it would never seriously killed me. Now the time came to fight for real, in the real world.
I admit I was a little anxious during the trip, cause I was trying everything I learned: I’d better got to sur-vive, and not to fail!

I don't know why, but right now I'm feeling terribly alone.. dunno why... I have awesome friends, I have a good family... i even found super friends here on AC.. well, I guess it can't be helped... maybe is the silence, that horrible silence that here's covering everything, cuz at midnight is normal to be silent... well, I'll fill that hole.. I'll shout in that silence: here it is!!

SORROW SINGS A LONELY HEART

Sorrow sings a lonely heart

Has my heart healed his wounds / or still is it bleeding?
Has my mind set this thing / that you’re no more with me?
I’ve walked alone so much / I thought I understand
But finally I realize / I’ve always been alone…

I’m walking in the darkness
A hole is at my feet
I’m going on cause I don’t know
How to turn on my back

You will never be with me, now I know
Your memory is killing me, I can’t forget!
You will never help me turn, to my back
The only things you did was leave me alone!

My colours have turned to grey / you can see the scars
Tell me now you’re satisfied / of what you have done?
You broke all our promises / and all our hopes
I am dead inside of me / till that day in the past

I’m walking in the darkness
A hole is in my chest
I’m going on because I know
I don’t want to turn back

You will never be with me, now I know
Your memory is killing me, I can’t forget!
You will never help me turn, to my back
The only things you did was leave me alone!

Now I’m alone in the dark
Waiting for a kind hand
Sadness and sorrow inside me
A void devouring me!!

By all these feelings I’ll be torn apart
Cause sorrow sings a lonely heart

as always, forgive my grammar:p

This is the second chapter of Assassin, I have to thank Nicky To-san for the corrections, DarkAngle-chan for the ideas and some good help on that chap. Here it is, chapter 2

CALEB CAZOO

That was the beginning of my death. I told you as an explanation of my story, because it was what killed me. But my story is way too long, even if we can’t possibly write about every single thing that life brings us. Luckily (for the paper, not for me) I was dead. Looking at the tales, that lets me avoid emotions and feelings way too hard to explain.
After few days they came: troops of the earl of Daltighot, in order to examine the damage and to help us. I admit that the view of soldiers made me tremble. They made me remember that night, that terrible and turbu-lent night: in a moment I was under the sun, another I was back in that darkness. Definitely, even dead men can fear something, I understood.
After two days came the real help. Smiths, carpenters, food. And spies. Don’t make such a surprised look, it’s so usual! I did something like it myself, years later. It’s the first step to become a real assassin: you have to listen and act, cause even the best sneak can be wrong and make you kill the wrong person. The spy work makes you use your brain and to act quickly based on your thoughts.
You’re so surprised cause the spies of the earl of Daltighot came here, in a Daltighot’s village? It’s really simple: that earl should have defended that village, and he didn’t do it. In a survivors mind, it could be a little irritating to have details like that. So the spies had to understand our thought and decide what to do with the hot-headed ones. Simple, isn’t it?
You know, when the helps finally came I didn’t know a heck bout spies and similar stuff. I didn’t even care. I admit that in those days I simply waited for the death to come for me: from my point of view, not hav-ing a reason to live made me have a reason to die. I waited patiently, but the death simply didn’t come. I helped sometimes (just killing time, nothing else) but for most of those days I simply remained looking be-fore me. Doing nothing.
It lasted two days, before he passed by. He was the most weird person I’d ever seen: standing, he was walking up and down the street without a clear reason but looking interested at everything. He talked a little with a smith, made a group of people laugh while they were working, turned back and had a little talk with a few soldiers. It wasn’t only because of the yellow coat and the weird glasses that he was strange. Apparently, he was like a part of the village, he was perfectly balanced with the people around him, talking with every-body like they were all friends for life. He was so trusting.
Then I saw it. He was helping a group of villagers with the wood, and near ‘em started a brawl. It seemed that someone thought that help was useless compared with all they lost. The debate became more violent, and many villagers came up shouting and thrusting. I casually approached that point, and casually that weird guy turned to me. I saw a cold flash in his eyes, and a smile shining on the face. It was an instant, and then the jovial mask went on again, with an innocent smile on the fat features, and the friendly look of the blue eyes. I looked at him. He looked at me. He should have known I saw, cause he smiled in a sly way which made me decide to go after him.
I didn’t know who he was or what he wanted. I didn’t care bout it, as I didn’t care about his feelings. without hesitation I followed his yellow coat through the screaming people which were shouting out their rage for the first time. Punches began before I could leave them behind. In few minutes, that become the worst brawl I’ve ever seen.
“Well well” he said “So ya came. I hoped it, but you didn’t move for three whole days…” he smiled “Now that you’re finally up let’s talk a bit, ok? How can you stay silent for a whole day? I’m sure I can’t do it! Isn’t it boring?” suddenly laughs “Now I’m the one talking, and you’re still silent. Come here, I’ll offer you a beer, wont you?”
Pushing me straight, he took me to a seller come with the earl’s helps.
“Two beers for two poor workers, old man!” yelled “Make em as cold as ya can, grandpa, cause here the situation was really hot!”
“Hot?” the old man said “Like what?”
“Now the soldiers should have stopped them” answered the weird guy “But before they were punching hard!”
“Ah” mumbled the seller “Hope they won’t destroy anything”
“Don’t worry” he said “They’ll calm down, and come back home hurt but feeling better”
He gave me a jug and said on a table “Nothing better than a beer to talk with a friend” yelled “What’s your name, boy?”
Silence.
“Well you have to have one!”
Silence. I didn’t said a word since I saw him.
“Understand, bad day, yeah? It’s always like that with me: sometimes my friend left me at home cause I’m too pissed” Silence “Oh, it happens once in a while, but it goes away. So what’s up, boy? The world is plenty of men like me who’ll try to make you smile!”
He smiled propellant, then smacked his forehead “My bad, my bad! I didn’t even introduce myself! Obvi-ously you won’t tell me your name! So I’m Caleb, Caleb the Round, and Cazoo for my friends. So feel free to call me Cazoo!”
“Call me Pol” I whispered.
“All right Pol, as you wish” he said “let’s toast to your health and the health of our lord, the earl!” drank a lot “What’s up, boy? Aren’t you thirsty? You should have said it before I offer a beer!” laughs “Or maybe something’s wrong? Maybe my toast?”
He talked casually. If I hadn’t seen his strange look before (and if I hadn’t made a deal about his attitude on the villagers) I would have never understood. I simply looked at him till he nodded. He understood as well.
“Ya know, boy” “You’re strange. You’re like stone: everyone would have shouted out with passion, screaming against or in favour. You instead stayed silent, used your brain, thinking about the answer, not about the question, and then you even avoided to answer suspiciously”
“I saw you” I explained.
“That could be a meaning of something, but not about all. Maybe it won’t last” he replied with a strange smile “We’ll meet again, Pol” he said that name with derision, as it wasn’t mine.
I watched his back moving away, wondering about what to do with two full jugs here on the table.

That was my first meeting with Caleb the Round, Cazoo for his friends. It’s strange, but that day was the only one where he didn’t surprise me. Well maybe he was right: it didn’t last. Nothing was able to fill the hole inside me: not a woman, nor a childs smile. But thanks to people like Caleb, something was still here. Maybe only a smile after a joke, simple things, but they were needed (even by a dead corpse). It was the first, great lesson he taught me: everything can be used, even a tragedy like the one that killed me. If it left me cold and unemotional, I was simply to walk through the world with those qualities! Yeah, I call it a quality, because I’m an assassin, and being cold and unemotional is a quality in my job. It was the only thing that Caleb lacked. The only one he needed in that tragic, final day.

ASSASSIN, CAP 1: THE BEGINNING

I am an assassin. Don’t wanna hide behind some strange names, digressing about the necessity of my activity, or even the necessity of someone’s death. I don’t do what I do for the sake of the world, neither for some stupid stuff like it. I’m an assassin, who kills my lord’s enemies. Nothing more, nothing less.
My story begins with the longest night. That night, my village, between Daltighot and Berenghal’s shire, was attacked. In few hours I lost everything I cared about, except my life. But I lost that too: I lost a reason to live, the shining smile on the face, lost my own youth, replaced by a hole that nothing can fill. I met many stupid men in my life, many who thought they were sages and some of them who were it for real. Men from the first two categories told me I had been really lucky to survive, that I should have thanked the gods and then start a new life like a common man. And I was a common man as they could see, of course. Even some sages suggested me to forget. They never understood.
A sick man can recover. Even a dying man can survive and start a new life. But a corpse, something that can move only because of a stupid joke of a god, it’s not the same. War makes desperates ready for every-thing. But makes even something that shouldn’t exist. Men and women without emotions, which can’t regain what they lost. A broken house can be built again, but if you lost something inside you, you can only hope to forget what you were. Otherwise you cry about something that will never come back.
It was the longest night. It’s a feast, cause it’s a unique day in the year. Like everyone in the village, we guys were partying. There’s something unfair in partying during a feast? It was all right.
We are a big and fat village, with all it needs to be prosperous: rich soil, which gave us food to eat and to sell in the city. We have bread and good wine. The smith use the money to buy iron, using it to repair everything, and to help the travellers. We have many travellers: we are on the way between Daltighot and Berenghal so a lot of voyagers come here and spend the night. We have three inns that are not even enough in summer. The river gives us water, and the bridge have a toll that makes us rich. We are a big and rich village.
We were a rich and big city.
That night no one was on the bridge. We were partying, and we would have welcomed a stranger smiling. And we did it, they were strangers and we smiled when their spear reached our chests.
There were lots of them, horsemen and without colours. Grey armour, sharp-edged swords, helmets which hide their faces. Riders, mercenaries, hired by someone who wanted to remain in the shadow. Now I know that. I didn’t know that night, but it wouldn’t have made any difference: they came, killed, sacked, had fun with someone who was still alive and went away like mercenaries do. On the contrary, we toasted, had fun with something we had like people partying do, were killed, sacked, used (who were still alive) and then left alone.
I was drunk, so I don’t remember a lot. The only thing that remains is a nightmare (you know, even corpses dream and suffer) full of reflections of fire on the edge of the swords, screams and curse which are one in a terrible mix. When I don’t wake up (silently, dead corpses don’t shout) the dream goes on, showing me the deformed feature of the girls used by the mercenaries. Now the nightmare is silent: those desperate looks are enough to make a man crazy, and lucky me that screams don’t reach my ears. Horrifying looks, of someone who just lost everything and who’s forced into the deepest humiliation. The view is enough to go foolish. But dead men don’t go crazy, it’s impossible for me to use that shortcut to salvation. Dead men don’t go crazy, and neither die. That’s the only answer I found, because I prayed so long to die. But gods don’t have interest in dead walking men, cause they are out of that terrible foolish circle named life. We have nothing to offer at Their power, no tears, no desperate emotions that can make them feel great. But I’m boring you with this useless talk, because gods don’t even exist. If they were to exist, if only they were alive in their perfection that’s shouted out by their priests, they should have died long ago. They should have died in their perfect shame seeing the first war fought. If they really exist, then this perfection is a fake: in that case gods are simply cold-hearted sons of a ***** able to survive without caring about everything around them. So that’s the answer: gods don’t exist, and if they exist it’s like they don’t, and men are condemned by their never ending, blessed (and perfect) useless talks to that foolish life where we kill everything around us, probably just for feel like gods too. Come to think about it, it’s better if they don’t even exist.
But I’m loosing my mind again. After the mercenaries killed, sacked and raped the girls, they went away. The survivors woke up crying and searching for someone like them.
Rising up from the mud, the eyes burning from tears and the bones aching for the terrible beat i got, I didn’t feel the hole, the void that would have come later. I felt more pain than ever before, but my first worry was for my parents. Stunning, I walked to my house. Which of course was no more. The entire street was a flam-ing torch. Smoke and ash made me blind, taking my breath. Astonished, I looked that terrible at view, forgetting why I came here. I came back to myself hearing a wall crumbling, while sulphurous tears came down my cheeks. I fell on my knees, coughing.
I could hear nothing. No physical pain, not the flames roaring near me, nor the cold of a night gone too far away to be remembered. There weren’t noises around me, only a silence talking about death and destruction. A tear fell down, hitting the floor, and I heard that sound clearly, in contrast with the deadly silence. I didn’t even breath, killed by the smoke and by the longest night. Or I thought so. Now I was standing, moving away from my family. I don’t know how I got up, or how much time I spent lying. The death had come that night, but not for me. Like a ghost, I walked around in the village, looking at our tears: men crying for their women, women crying for their babies, kids crying for themselves and for something they couldn’t understand… but all those sounds were muffled, like it all was coming from far away, too far for me to reach.
A girl lying on the ground moved. I recognized her for the long red hair: we were having fun before the ar-rival of the soldiers. Probably, others enjoyed her after that. She groaned, looking at me, desperate in her blue eyes, trying to reach me with an arm. I saw that arm was broken. Once again, I felt the hole inside me: how could such things exist, such cruelty? How was that, that world was possible, a world where everything could be taken away from us, just for fate’s freak? I still remember my mother, when she was telling me some tales to make me sleep.
“The prince fought to make this world better” she said “Wouldn’t you help him?”
That time, the prince searched for my help. For an instant he was right before me, asking me to make the world better. I looked at his hand, under my eyes, thinking about it and about the hole inside me.
Behind me, the red haired girl fell down again in the mud.

This is a sad song, I choose this cuz I like the melancholy I gave... this is

The star of Sorrow

Lonely raindrops slide on my window
Like tears bleeding from my broken heart
Tears of sorrow broken promises and hope
Falling down from a grey and sad sky
A void inside me is slowly eating my soul
I want to cry I want to scream but I can’t
My heart is dead my mind is a lonely void
I’m a dead man walking the streets of my life

Tell me why I feel this way
Tell me why I feel this way [ tell me why!! ]
Sadness’s trapped inside my heart
Tell me why I cannot cry [ tell me why!! ]

Sunlight is nothing I can feel from my dark
I’m lost in the fog, embraced by my tears
My star has fallen down, his light is gone
Everything here is dead, leave me alone

Tell me why I feel this way
Tell me why I feel this way [ tell me why!! ]
Sadness’s trapped inside my heart
Tell me why I cannot cry [ tell me why!! ]

I know I’ll never forgive myself!
Everything has come to an end!! [ Too late ]

Tell me why I feel this way
Tell me why I’m still not dead [ tell me why!! ]
Tell me why I’m so alone
Bleeding heart and broken bones [ tell me why!! ]
