For the last 6 weeks I have been teaching English to kids from all over the world. I have taught people from France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Morocco, China, Taiwan, Japan, Uzbekistan, Italy, Nigeria, Ukraine and the Ivory Coast and I can honestly say its been the best and weirdest experience ever. I've learned that some European kids can be fairly arrogant and annoying, especially the rich ones I have been teaching. Then some of them are really nice kids and are really confident in lessons and will put themselves forward to do anything. I learned that most Asian kids tend to be very welcoming friendly people, but seem to get a little too close for comfort at times and they are too quiet in lessons to have any form of speaking activities. my main point being here that if you ever have the opportunity to work with summer camps or teaching for short periods of time, do it, because its one of the most amazing things you will ever experience

Last night I went to see a band called Bombay Bicycle Club, it was an amazing gig the venue was packed, but the best part came an hour after the gig finished, we were in the bar next door called Bourbon, it was completely dead and we were just having a drink when who trots in but bloody Bombay Bicycle club, so me and my friends all in single file asked for the autographs of 4 people the same age as us but have accomplished more than we could ever hope. any way as it turns out Jack Steadman (the lead singer) is a bit of a wanker, but the others were very nice, especially the bassist who took a picture of my brother because he was wearing a nock off Bombay Bicycle Club T-shirt bought from a Rastafarian outside

A highlight was when one of my friends who didn't know the band unknowingly said to Jack Steadman, "what you wearing a bag for, you Chinese or something?", which is a ridiculous thing to say as it is but all the more funny when said by a geordie

thought I would get in on the poetry action cause I'm bored and I can :/

The Lento

A guitar amp plays out with a million echoe's
The sound fills the fields, the parks and the meadows,
What is this sound? These Talented Fellow's
The will prick up they're ears as the tempo now mellows
The song is beggining as the lead singer bellows
It's about life, shit jobs and filling out memo's
A song about getting by selling poor quality demo's
Now they're living the good life, no more robbing from Tesco's
No more instant noodles for us we'll be eating in the steak house bistro's
And the drugs are high grade, good weed from a guy named Jethro
As opposed to that last guy, the old rapper from the ghetto
They've got pool cleaners and gardeners named pancho, pablo and pedro
And they're cars are collections, brand new ferari's in red blue and yellow
The fame went to they're heads since they played on Jay Leno,
but inside the're the same drinking coffee in the back of cafe Lento

My weekend started off with a trip to Leeds where I live while at uni, I got a coach and it took me about 3 and a half hours. My main reason for going was just to go out get drunk and have a good time, instead what happened was on Saturday night me and my friends found ourselves at a Drum n Bass drug party. so you know when in Rome, I got involved and about two hours in I found my self talking to a dealer going by the name of Dr.Green who sold drugs but didn't take them, too dangerous apparently (irony) I later saw him rapping in the basement (twat), why a drug dealer needs a pseudonym I don't know but whatever. a few hours after that I was being sold a bullet proof vest by a complete stranger, I pointed out the obvious problems in his sale,

A. being we're in England, generally gun crime is fairly rare

B. In the event I were being shot and was wearing a bullet proof vest, would they not just aim a little higher at my head, or lower at my legs?

anyway, the night ended it was a good time, fun had all around.
Then on Sunday I went to catch my coach home so I could get to work on Monday morning, however I missed the coach and was stranded, so in the end I had to book another for 06:45 in the morning, I was 3 hours late for work, had barely slept, had no food or money, and then had to catch a bus home, shitty day, then to top it off last night I got call asking me to be in work at 06:45 today :( on the 11 hour shift and still feeling crappy

I have a lot of bad habits but I would say my worst are these.

I'm sarcastic and cynical - pretty much if I think its shit, I'll let you know and it has proven to be one of my less liked traits and though I know I'm doing it and don't want to I can't stop myself, if Rhianna is on the radio, I'm going to have a rant.

I smoke and Drink a lot - Probably the worst, despite the noticeable effect I can see it having on my health I just enjoy them both so much. its more drinking I could never stop rather smoking though.

I tend to realise I'm being an arsehole 2 or 3 days after it matters anymore - big one again its only when I look back on things a couple days later and go for god sake I'm such a twat why was I doing that???

finally I would say being a stubborn bastard and fighting my case long after I remember my original point.

there a lots more these are probably the worst. what are yours ~~~~

I was on campaign of searching for the meaningless today doing things such as looking up why we have three pin connectors instead of two pin...

I was on campaign of searching for the meaningless today doing things such as looking up why we have three pin connectors instead of two pin connectors, I happened to spot in Googles recommended searches why do the UK drive on the left. I sat there for a second and thought why do we? its a 50/50 you would go right or left but why?

as I'm sure you dying to find out here's why

About a quarter of the world drives on the left, and the countries that do are mostly old British colonies.
Japan also drive on the left

This strange quirk perplexes the rest of the world; however, there is a perfectly good reason.

Up to the late 1700's, everybody travelled on the left side of the road because it's the sensible option for feudal, violent societies of mostly right-handed people.

Jousting knights with their lances under their right arm naturally passed on each other's right, and if you passed a stranger on the road you walked on the left to ensure that your protective sword arm was between yourself

Revolutionary France, however, overturned this practice as part of its sweeping social rethink. A change was carried out all over continental Europe by Napoleon. The reason it changed under Napoleon was because he was left handed his armies had to march on the right so he could keep his sword arm between him and any opponent.

From then on, any part of the world which was at some time part of the British Empire was thus left hand and any part colonised by the French was right hand.

In America, the French colonised the southern states (Louisiana for instance) and the Canadian east coast (Quebec). The Dutch colonised New York (or New Amsterdam). The Spanish and Portugese colonised the southern Americas. So The British were a minority in shaping the 'traffic'.

The drive-on-the-right policy was adopted by the USA, which was anxious to cast off all remaining links with its British colonial past

Once America drove on the right, left-side driving was ultimately doomed. If you wanted a good reliable vehicle, you bought American, for a period they only manufactured right-hand-drive cars.

From then on many countries changed out of necessity.

Today, the EC would like Britain to fall into line with the rest of Europe, but this is no longer possible. It would cost billions of pounds to change everything round.
The last European country to convert to driving on the right was Sweden in 1967. While everyone was getting used to the new system, they paid more attention and took more care, resulting in a reduction of the number of road accident casualties.
