OHSHC and Ranma 1/2 Question

Does anyone know what manga chapters of Ouran Host Club were not made into anime episodes, same question for Ranma 1/2?
Also, if you've seen both anime and think it's best to just start from the very beginning of the mangas plz say so. THANKS!

regarding Ouran High school Club:
I suggest you read from the begining. There is tons of facts explained into the manga that were not done, or changed in the anime.
I'd say after chapter 5-6, it's start to be interresting again, as that's were things strat to take a different direction. BUT REALLY read it all from scratch. The anime doesn't compare to the manga...

FROM WHAT I REMEMBER... this was back in time when anime and manga were actually pretty accurate to story and lineart, but i really can't be sure for real. But i am almost positive that you "could" skip a couple chapter/volume....
