Chapter 2: The Wall that Separates Me
For each and every person who knows me at school, they don’t know the real me. Not even the staff. They’ll believe every word I say. They think that my parents died of a car accident and I’m living normally with a close relative. Five, live a secretive life. That rule for me has always worked. The only people who know that I’m an assassin are myself and Yuki.
In class, it was just another ordinary day. It disgusts me how I have to listen to people complain about useless things and how they think they’re so cool. Like Yoi Kodomo, he thinks he understands how it is to live a life where he does combat and has to train everyday and whatnot. His father made him learn kendo for self defense. And he has been training kendo for 5 years. So he’s an expert at it now. But he likes to brag on how good his reflexes are when they’re so slow I don’t even have to look to counter it. For other people, it was impressive, but for me, that was so slow. He can’t even block me if we sparred even if I’d went easy.
“Hikari-san, Hikari-san, pay attention Hikari-san.” It was my sensei speaking to me. “Please answer number 12 in page 54 in the textbook.” I could hear other students quietly laughing at me.
It was after school now. Yoi Kodomo was once again bragging on how “fast” his reflexes are. I walked home. While other students are going home and start on their homework and then do whatever they want, it’s not like that for me. Once I finish my homework, I go to my dojo and start training with Yuki. Yuki is about the same level as I am. He used to be higher than me by a lot, but I improve fast.
