Java Programming

Posted 01-30-2009 at 01:02 AM by Karyuudan

Does anyone know how to program in Java? I'm curious to know because I'm studying it and find it a headache...I had an open book in-class test and was told here you got an hour write a program that does blah blah blah...
I had no clue how to start it I sat there for 1/2 an hour baffled. I read the question like 50 times in the end I started it flicking through the book. No previous revision (it was the first term) Well I thought what you are thinking now; definite fail
The results came out today and I got a C, it was said 50% of the people failed (its like 250 people)...so right now I'm dumbfounded and thought I'll share this weird feeling with the people of AC.
Word to the wise; always revise!!!

I don't wanna put you off it, it is good. I prefer the maths modules though because it requires constant practice. The lecturer always says its like a bike you have to actually go program instead of reading the books. Maths sticks in my head, Java just doesn't as much but everyone is different so you'll see soon enough

Hmm, "Please Note: The Java compiler and JGrasp are free and downloadable. Also, this course is designed around the Windows XP Operating System. I do not have the expertise to help students with Mac or Linux systems.

Is that what was said!? I would be worried after the "I do not have the expertise to help" That is bad is you have Mac or Linux. Well I have no clue about that one so I can't really say much.

We use Net Beans, here... Well, I will be using it soon... I am only familiar with BlueJ, which we used in high school. (Both are free)

It may have been a little easier if you knew some C programming, but once you get the hang of java, object oriented programming is really nice.

In high school!?!? Its all new to me I never programed anything before I took this course. Yeah it is nice when you compile with no error messages
