Writing a Book

As of right now I am writing a book of fiction. Due to the fact that I do not want to change anything about my idea or have it stolen, I have decided not to explain the plot to anyone. But I want to know what would be the best way to publish it. I have been writing for a few years now and I also graduated from High School as a Writer. Unfortunately there was never really any discussion about publishing or anything of that manner. I have been doing some research on the world wide web, but I am stuck on who to contact and where to look. Living in the states has made it quite complicated since I want to turn this story into some kind of animation or even a graphic novel. I have been trying to find people who can help in this matter or maybe even meet people who have succeed in doing so or knowing anyone with connections or just simple networking. What is my best bet on how to go about completing this work and making into what I want to be?

From most of the replies I have received, there seems to be a misunderstanding as to what is being asked here. I am simply stating if there is any outlet that anyone knows of where writers can collaborate with other people in the field. I have looked all over the internet and have come up with nothing still to this day. That is all I ask for, nothing else. Just some information, not comments that are common sense to anyone. Thank you.

Awesome thanks for the info. I was thinking about going back to school. It is not something that I want to do, but if it needs to be done I will do what ever it takes.

I don't understand what you mean by this. Of course the plot will be understood, otherwise it wouldn't be considered a book

Also, I think you are confusing what I said in the blog that I wasn't going to discuss the plot so that there is nothing changed or stolen. There was never any mention of the plot being hard to understand. I appreciate the effort, but please try to stay on topic when there is something being addressed.

Also, not all popular books are plots or stories that most people can understand. I haven't met many people who understand Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand or even [I]The Catcher in the Rye [I]by [I]J.D. Salinger. Sometimes the best stories are the ones that most people don't understand.
