vampires, why are they now cool?

ok so we all know the tale of Dracula and its many versions. but why is it now cool to be undead? i mean if you think about it you never age (this is a constant in all vampire story's i have ever read of seen) which can be both good and bad, i mean an interview with a vampire shows how bad a life a child vampire can have. This glorified image of immortality is ridiculous. To live forever would be a living hell, all your loved ones age then die, all that you once knew will go, you will end up alone in a life where you are distant from everyone. Also this twilight crap of forming a pack is so ridiculously stupid! The common vampire is and always should be a solitary hunter. Not this pack of undead who all try to go vegi. this re vamping (sorry for that bad pun) of their tale is bland. nothing new has been brought to our attention by twilight, its just brought vampires into the spotlight, (which as is not where they belong, that was a joke)
