The house-husband dream? O_O

Well, I'm in english class atm (mornin' btw~ 
)
Anyways, we were all discussing in class the systems, future and all that when my teacher,
Ms. Scerri tells us that her husband is thinking of being a house-husband if they ever have children.
Then one of my friends named Matt yells out,
"omigod, he's so lucky!"
<---- everyones expression.
Matt continued: "Well yea, sitting in shorts at home, eating cornflakes, watching Oprah.. and, of course looking after the kids. That's the dream." -faraway look on his face-
I was actually surprised though, I don't really know any males (besides Matt) that would be ok to be a house husband...

It's not as glamorous as he paints it, especially if the kids are really young. Guys become house husbands all the time, it's not that uncommon. Of course a lot of guys continue to strive to be the provider as in the olden days. It's just how it is. Like P20 said, it's not exactly uncommon. I don't mind having a house husband though and frankly I think it's pretty cool having one.

It's tougher than it sounds, I personally would prefer NOT to become a house husband because i prefer to be out and about rather than be stuck at home all day, just my personal opinion.Posted 07-27-2012 at 02:51 AM by Kim Myung Soo -

If we could switch jobs, I'm pretty sure my DH would like to try it - for a while anyways. I work from home part time.
Hmm... the non-gender-specific term (and possibly more accurate) would be "home-maker"
