RIP Andy Krippner
Andy Krippner was a member of the U.S. military and attended the same church as I did. We were not close, but I consider him to be a friend in addition to being a brother in Christ. Andy died while serving overseas in Afghanistan. I have not been informed of the circumstances and do not expect to, for at least a while, as I was not a close friend of the family. I'm not sure I want to. I do know he died in his service to our country and protecting the freedom we take for granted every day.
Andy was goofy and intensely involved in whatever he was talking about(in a good way). He was friendly to everyone, you would have to try very hard to make an enemy of him under normal circumstances.
I know many AC members are not American or just don't know him so you may not care and I understand that. I know that this may not seem like the place to put something like this. I just want more people to know about his noble sacrifice.
Andy Krippner died for what he believed was right: protecting his country which in turn meant his friends, family, and the right to practice Christianity freely without fear(freedom of religion- in this case specifically Christianity); in many other countries we would be persecuted for our faith.
RIP Andy Krippner. You will be missed, but not forgotten. See you in heaven.
Update: I have just been informed that Andy died in combat.
