Who wants to help settle an argument for me. My friend and I are currently in an argument about Death Note and Code Geass he says that both Light and Lelouch are evil and I say only Light is because in the end Lelouch does does a very good thing.

Neither were evil, in my mind. Both hoped to create an ideal world which they both believed were just, and both killed many people in the process. Killing does not equal evil, in a black and white sense. What is good and evil is written by the one who wins, Lelouch obviously got the better of that deal even though he "died."Posted 12-27-2011 at 03:57 AM by SSJ5

Light sorted out his idea of an utopia world with the use of oppression and fear; he didn’t act upon selflessness, in fact on many occasions he preached about becoming the god of his new world. On the contrary, Lelouch envisioned a better world achieved by destruction and recreation, a process that wouldn’t last indefinitely in order to achieve it, plus, from the moment he decided to do it he was willing to lose everything, he even planned his own death in order to realize that goal.
Light = Evil
Lelouch = Not evil, or much less evilPosted 12-27-2011 at 06:07 AM by Mr Zero

They were both antihero protagonists is all I can say. Light was an ultra-radical totalitarian; Lelouch was Machiavellian. It's an ideological similarity that really shouldn't wander into the realm of moot philosophical delineations of good or evil. That's the point of their characters' personalities in the first place.Posted 12-27-2011 at 10:44 AM by KageNoKensai
