Pure Destruction - The Assassination of the Gotei 13

[CENTER][B][U]Chapter 2: No Place For Sorrow[/U][/B][/CENTER]

"Raise Your Head Wabisuke!" Kira Izuru's Katana glowed a bright white. It's natural curvature vanished, and at the end of his zanpakutou the blade took two 90 degree angle turns, forming his blade into the shape of a hook, with the cutting edge on the inside.

"I don't know what your purpose here is, Squad 5 Captain GeneralArrow, but know that you are engaging the Lieutenant of Squad 3 Kira..."

"Kira Izuru. Yes I know full well who you are and what you are capable of. And [I]you[/I] should know how little it concerns me." GeneralArrow waved his hand dismissively. No sooner had this act of contempt ended, GeneralArrow vanished.

Out of the corner of his eye, Kira saw GeneralArrow's figure reappear to his left, and slashed horizontally in that direction. The blunt edge of Wabisuke met General's forearms. General slide his arms down, and grasped the blunt side of Wabisuke, using Kira' weapon as leverage to swing his legs up, wrapping them around Kira's arm and spinning, flipping Kira face forward into the rooftop, and dislocating his shoulder.

Kira let out a cry of pain as his face smashed off the hard rooftop. He tilted his head towards General, and saw the Squad 5 Captain's leg high in the air. He relaxed, and rolled off the side of the roof, landing with his feet on the ground. He switched Wabisuke into his opposite hand, and vanished in Shunpo. He reappeared above GA, his sword raised above his head in one hand, apparently swinging it down on GA, who's foot was securely smashed through the rooftop.

At the last second, Kira vanished again, reappearing directly in front of GA and slicing furiously at GA's torso and arms. But GA's blade was already in hand, and met Wabisuke at every turn. One slice shoved GA backwards, ripping his foot from the broken roof, and throwing him backwards into the air. Kira did not pursue, but instead waited while GA regained his footing.

GA attempted to raise his sword above his head, and pulled with all the muscles in his arms, but to no effect, the blade lay permanently drooping at his side, it was all he could do to hold it.

"Tch" GA glared at his zanpakutou, and then at Kira's.

"Wabisuke," Kira began. "'The Penitent One'. It doubles the weight of.."

"Whatever it cuts," GA cut Kira off, a crooked smile adorning his features. "I know all about it. Fascinating really. In the end, your enemy bows to you, as though apologizing. Unfortunately it has one serious flaw," GA chuckled.

"Oh? and what might that flaw be?" Kira's eyes narrowed, glancing from Wabisuke to GA.

"Hinata, Show Your Brilliance To The Heavens!" GA's zanpakutou glowed brightly, becoming pure light and taking the shape of a Jian. Even at a distance, Kira good feel the immense heat from GeneralArrow's blinding zanpakutou. The light was so bright, in fact, that Kira noticed GA crashing down on him from above barely in time to raise Wabisuke in defence. Holding Wabisuke horizontally above his face, as GA used centrifugal force to swing Hinata down on Kira's blade. Even though the blade of GA's Zanpakutou is made from pure solidified light, Wabisuke's effect still heavily impacted it, and Kira's arms buckled slightly under the weight of the strike, and could barely hold beneath the weight of the blade.

"I've used Wabisuke's own abilities against you Kira, and in combination with my own abilities, this battle is..." GA sneered, as his blade of blinding light began to melt through Kira's Wabisuke. "Over." Wabisuke's blade finally gave way, and Kira's eyes widened as GA's blade cut through his body, right down to the air beneath the two fighters.

"There is no room for Sorrow on the Battlefield," GA, said thoughtfully, as the two halves of Kira Izuru, his eyes still wide in disbelief, fell to the ground.

[CENTER]Elsewhere...[/CENTER]

Rangiku Matsumoto sat inside her quarters still, content to sip sake as her friends were slaughtered unbeknown to her. A few moments after Kira left, the door slid open once again. She didn't bother to look up from her drink, instead mumbled to her friend.

"I told you I didn't feel anything. Now come sit down and finish your drink," She said, taking another drink from her saucer. She heard footsteps approach the table, but got no verbal response. "Oh c'mon Kira don't be childish, you made a mistake it's okay, don't be a baby."

The footsteps drew closer, but turned towards her end of the table, rather than Kira's seat. Finally, she turned to face her friend. But Kira was nowhere in sight. Instead, there was a man standing over her, his palm aimed down at her. A high pitched whistle echoed throughout the room, as a large Cero formed in the figure's hand, aimed directly at Matsumoto's head.

"When you get to the pearly gates," the man spoke. "Tell em Optempo sent ya," The man sneered, firing the cero straight into Matsumoto's terrified eyes.
