Scars (a random story.)
I will state this clearly first: The story is entirely fictional and contains no references at all to anything that really happened.
I wrote it because it was keeping me awake, it's hard to sleep with a fight scene playing through my head.
the main character is my own, the one I based loosely on myself, and this is the story that explains two of her scars.
(Snake currently occupies my profile picture along with Faun who is sleeping by her side.)
the other main character will remain a cryptic unexplained male -for copyright reasons I will not ever reveal who he is.
now enjoy or don't, I don't care which.
Scars
Terror, running, my paws pounding the soil.
I raced through the forest, my wings and tail streaming behind me. He was coming; I knew it with every fiber of my being.
I did not want him to catch me.
Darting around a tree I ran straight into him. His blade lashed out as I leapt back, catching me deeply across my face.
My luminous blood flowed but I knew it wasn’t serious yet.
I fled once again, the blood half-blinding me.
I didn’t need to outrun him for long; I just had to hold out until Faun found me. I’d be safe once she did.
He was right on my tail again; the blade bit me once more, aimed for my throat, he tried to end my life.
My paws knew what to do better than I did and I avoided a fatal blow for the second time. I doubted my luck would hold a third.
Turning I slipped under him, confusing him for a moment. Precious time but at high cost; I received one last blow from his blade as I took flight behind him.
The wound across my face was deeper and longer now; cutting from above my right eye, across my muzzle, and down to the left corner of my mouth.
I had to get away!
As I winged into the sky a faint glow from a nearby clearing alerted me; Faun had made it.
I dove for the light and landed on the soft grass beside the portal waiting to take me home.
Faun leapt to my shoulder as I stepped toward her light. My foe exploded into the clearing just as I reached safety.
“You lose this time!” I told him as I vanished into the light, the portal closing behind me before he had a chance to follow.
I was safe once more, though the scars would stay with me forever.
(oddly enough this took up an entire page in the program I wrote it.)
