Short Story

It’s hard to remember how the world felt like before, back when my muscles worked and I could show them I was alive.
They treat me like I’m not even here, but I guess I’m really not.
“Dude, I have no idea what TBI is, would someone tell me what is going on?!” I wished I could scream, but my body wouldn’t respond. Many times I had tried to remember how this happened, but all I know I learnt form the doctors.
The car sent me flipping through the air, and I landed on my head. Something in my brain isn’t right anymore; they think I’m on a coma or something, but I don’t get it.
“I’m here people, please… I’m alive!” Nothing. My eyes are closed, but I can hear people move around me. They’ve plugged me to so many machines I can’t keep count. I can’t feel anything either, the only thing left that works is my brain and my hearing.
The doctors don’t know that apparently, because they’ve said some brutal things that should have been sugar coated for me.
It’s been around two months, if I were in a coma my chances of waking up are slim, luckily I’m not in a coma, right?
“You may want to take a look at this, it’s the EEG scans” Someone swiftly walked in the room while the doctor was in here too.
“These are normal brainwaves…” The doctor’s voice trailed off. I wanted to jump out of bed and shake him until he realised what this meant. I could only trust him to do that on his own.
“J-Josh… Can you hear me?”
Had to write a short story for English class and thought I'd put it up here, what do you guys think?
