Scroll 2: Uncovering Lost Stories (Part 2)
Apparently she was going to say something really long because she took a deep breath and lowered her voice.
-My name is Sheira, but you can call me Guardian. You got here; only the chosen one can get here. I once got here too, I was as confused as you are now, and I'll explain everything. You see, there is a prophesy in our village, it says that when a purple-eyed girl is born, the world would be saved from the darkness. You are that girl; you have to save the world from the darkness that consumes it. I'll explain the best I can and then I'll answer to your questions.
Okay, here it goes: You are the Chosen One, chosen by the goddess to save the earth from its awful fate. As you know, the world is covered in darkness, but you do not know how or why. You see, darkness is not controlled by a mere human, that is something humans can not handle. The being controlling the darkness taking over the world is called Hollow; he is a shadow spirit that rules over all the darkness. Nine beings like him exist in this world. The spirits of ice, water, light, earth, air, life, lightning, fire and strategy. They are all spread all over the world. The only way to beat Hollow is by gaining control of the light spirit, Aska. But in order to do that you will need to gain control of all the other spirits.-
-Okay, I understand but I have a question, how do I fit in this explanation?- I was really understanding what she was saying, somehow it really made sense.
-Well, that is simple; you are the one to gain control of them.-
-But how do I gain control of them?-
-Well, you see: this spirits are actually called Summon Spirits, they carry a contract that only a summoner can sign, by signing that contract you become the master of the determined spirit, does this make any sense to you?-
-Of course it does, but I have another question, is it that easy?-
-Of course not, that is the easy part; the hard part is to get the spirit to sign it. You see, no one likes to be owned, they don’t like it either, so you have to force them to sign it. The only way of doing that is by fighting and defeating them.-
-Okay, I understand. The only problem is I do not know how to fight.-
-That is easy, your father has something prepared, but now don’t think about that, now I am supposed to teach you how to treat a Summon Spirit.-
-Okay, I'll pay attention.-
-You better because it is really important, make one mistake and they will find the chance to kill you without hesitation. The most important thing when you encounter a Summon Spirit is being respectful. I know that is hard for you but we will practice that. Second of all you have to talk solemnly, they like it the old fashioned way, I'll make an example; you do not refer to them as you, that is a one way ticket to death, it is thou. Understood?-
-Yes, crystal clear-
-When you call them you must be prepared of anything, they have been waiting for very long for fresh meat so they will be impatient, and so you have to go right to the point. Every second counts.-
-Okay, so my life is in danger when i step into the room where the spirit is-
-Correct, any questions?-
-Yes, many questions, first of all: Who are you and why are you a copy of me?-
-Okay, I'll answer that with another question. Do you really think you are the first Chosen one? I mean, do you seriously think Martel would have waited for the darkness to spread all over the world before sending a savior?-
-Well… Umm… No, I don’t think so.-
-Okay, if you know that then its easy to explain, you are around the eighth chosen one the goddess has sent. Unfortunately all other seven chosen failed, including me. The reason we are exactly the same is complicated. You see, you may look like a normal human but you are not, deep inside of you, in your essence you are a beast. Thus your special powers and eyes. All chosen ones are the same as you; they all have a hidden beast. Technically the hidden beast is the chosen one, but for a strange reason it is not born with that form, it is born in the form of a human, you could say it seals itself inside a human body and like the beast is always the same it has the same influence on the body and thus all the bodies and minds are like copies.-
-That makes sense, I have another question: why can't my father speak here?-
-Because this ground is too holy for him, he is bewitched by a spell Martel herself cast upon this land.-
-Okay, understood. In which language are the words carved in the door written?-
-You'll learn them in time; each language is a Summon Spirit's language, which is why you couldn’t read them-
-Okay. How about the eyes, something happened and they changed.-
-That takes practice; the beast's eyes let you see what you need to see. When you need them you will be able to change your vision but you need to be as determined to change it as you were in the entrance door. To change it back you just have to be determined to, just like a beast, you do not have to let any emotions bother you while doing this because it will not work.-
-Understood. Why did the candles light themselves on?-
-Because in this place all your thoughts are transmitted to Martel, who will aid you as she can.-
I had run out of questions and I was tired, but I was afraid that if I left I would wake up from this awesome dream.
- Why don’t you go home and come back tomorrow? You're tired and you can not learn like that-
-No, really I'm fine.- But before I could even move I was outside of the temple and the door closed behind me. -Damn you, I'll get you for this.- My father was waiting for me outside. I ran to him and hugged him; it felt so real I was almost sure it was not a dream. I would definitely come back tomorrow.
-Lets go dad, I'm tired- I tried walking but he picked me up by the waist and carried me home, when I got there I told my whole family about my experience and before I knew it my mom had tucked me in bed and turned my candle off, I was so tired I fell asleep immediately.
