I know you all missed me, just wanted to come by and say I missed you all too.
I said my vacation was until January 12th, but it's going to be extended a bit since my brother really wants me to go down to Washington D.C. to visit him at his pad, so I'll be away from my precious AC for at least another week. :'<
Tomorrow I'm flying out of Germany to JFK in New York, so I'll be in the sky all day, except for my random stop in Iceland.
Wanted to drop the news out to all my homies so everybody knows what's up and the reason for why I'm gone. I hope you all had as great of a vacation as I did!

P.S. For the people who asked what part of Frankfurt I was going to be in (Frankfurt am Oder or Frankfurt am Main), I was in Frankfurt am Main, and it was beautiful.

P.S.S. I ended up not going to Prague, but went to Paris instead. A fair tradeoff I'd say. :D

I woke up this morning and asked myself "Ali, what the **** are you doing with your life?"

I've spent around 3 years of my life going to college studying something that I know will make me depressed, Information Systems. My true passion however, is Aerospace Engineering. Why am I not studying it? I don't know.

I'm applying to shitty Universities for a shitty program that I don't even like, and every time I click submit, I know that $55 is going down the toilet to give me a chance to do something I hate.

I asked myself, "Would I rather finish school quick and get on with a depressing life? Or would I rather stay for another 2 years in a crappy college, but study something I love?"

For about 3 years, my ideology was that the faster I finish everything, the better. I think of myself last, and finish everything else first. But today I realized I'm the one I'm living for, and I should do everything to make me happy. So now I've decided to go back to school to do something I want to do. Even though I'm going back to college for another 2 years.

Good decision? Bad decision? I don't know, but I wasted 3 years of my life doing jack shit.

Good thing I graduated High School two years early, so in reality I only wasted 1 year. Whatever.

Dance Music Compilation #4

Hey everybody! As most of you may know, I'm a music-holic, so I decided to go with an idea to spread awesome music around through weekly (I'll try) compilations of my favorite tracks from within the Electronic Dance Music genre, so more people can be exposed to it.

Also a little notice, a lot of these tracks have a long intro, so that allows DJ's to mix in the track into their sets, so you can just skip ahead a bit to hear the real meat of the track.

The number one spot was a total no-brainer for me. I heard this track right when it was released, and after it finished, I just laughed at how absolutely ridiculous it was, then I mashed the play button again.
This is a remix of The Black Project's rework of the Michael Jackson classic "Off The Wall". It features fantastically groovy beats with a great drumkit, the breakdown was exceptional, and the drop strikes the right note in any dancer's heart.
Overall fantastic rework.

So, Wolfgang released a new album a couple days ago, and if you're into the club scene and don't know this, you will soon, because his album will be reducing clubs to shreds of scrap metal and panties.
This track is pure madness. He has got like 5 synths all glitching into each other, and has a whole counter-melodic breakdown and buildup with some sort of manipulated distortion guitar and synth, then when the bass has a little half second intermission, it's the cue to the track about to blow in your face with pure electro ecstasy.

Kaskade's releases are usually very trancey, but built on house. This track is no exception. A very fat lead synth to grab your attention, with a very emotional chord progression. The vocals are also very fitting, and I can see myself being lost in this track while on the dancefloor. Excellent work yet again Kaskade.

For this spot, Federico Scavo and Alex Kenji collaborated to create this absolute house banger with an amazing uplifting feel to it and even more uplifting vocals layered on the track using glitch effects to vary up the sound as well. These two house masters definitely did not disappoint.

So for the number 5 spot, I'm posting up a fairly old track. However if I were making these blogs back then, this would be in the #0 spot, above #1. This track is so massive and insane if you are listening to it through a correct sound system that your ears may just explode. I don't even want to describe it, just listen to it.

Dance Music Compilation #3

Porter Robinson's new album "Spitfire" released on September 13th on OWSLA records was a pure bomb, and I gained a new-found respect for him. He truly messed around with all different kinds of styles, and this dubstep bomb...no, nuke, blew my mind to pieces. It wasn't pure chaotic madness, but it was still pretty intense. The most appealing element for me is the string sample, which gives it sort of an "Arabian" feel, and the acidic bass pad in the background is just beautiful.

Second is a remix of an awesome Electro House track by Lucky Date, who I've been following for a VERY long time, since I've been using his Reason tutorials for a while. This remix is bangin'! Space Laces put an even more energetic element into this track with great, bassy fills, as well as keeping its original "anthem-like" feel with the strings section. I also gotta give the build-up a shout out (it's near the end because it's just a preview), epic.

For this spot, Hardwell's remix of superstar combination BT, Morgan Page, and Sultan & Ned Shephard's track "In The Air" takes the cake. It's got a great uplifting progressive feel to it, and Hardwell did a great job making this track even brighter than it already was. A great track to just listen to and get lost in.

For the number 4 spot, DCUP, famous for her co-production "We No Speak Americano" remixes a fat track, released on Bargrooves, and it's a beautiful Indie House-ish track that's just all around feel good with very bubbly sounds, fantastic pad fills, and just all around soft sounds. It reminds you of the late 80's with its disco sounds, but it keeps its modern identity with its effects, and the lyrics are so soft, it's a track you can listen to during the day, on the way to the club, in a club, on the ride back home, and a lullaby to sleep to a fantastic night.

This final spot isn't a very new track, but it very much fits the theme for this week, as it is a track I've been addicted to for a while, and as I was scrolling through my favorites, I saw this track and it re-sparked my love for it. Phonat is an Italian producer with many unique sounds and ideas. One of his other tracks,

"Learn To Recycle"

is purely mind-blowing concept-wise, and must be checked out if you liked the track in the spoilers!

Dance Music Compilation #2

For the number one spot, I went with pretty mainstream Dutch House sounds with Chuckie in his new track with Gregor Salto. It's a great partying track with a nostalgic trance-esque build-up, and just all around hits all the party heads on a good note.

For the number two spot, I went in the complete opposite direction with a deep house bomb. This track has one of the grooviest percussion sequences, and is a remix of one of my favorite tracks. I don't know if this remix beats Thyladomid's "The Voice", but this composition is epic.

This number three track is going to break this house chain with a much more emotional element, using chopped up vocals and an emotional synthesizer lead with a very fitting progression, and a nice climax to boot.

Number four is fresh out of the mind of the one and only House genius Olav Basoski, remixing a Michael Jackson classic, "Off The Wall". Insanely funky beats, fairly generic disco/house sounds, but made extra-ordinary with his great envelope manipulation on the sounds, giving them even more of a "wah-wah" effect. Not to mention the breakdown and build are phenomenal.

Number 5 spot is here for a very special reason. I put it here not because it's good, but because if I record myself vomiting, it sounds better, yet this is what is filling people's minds for "great" Electronic music. Frankly, this is quite disgusting, and if Tiesto was not a big name artist, the person who sent this track in to a label would be ridiculed. I know music is subjective to taste, and I'm very much in agreement with that idea, however there are some tracks where talent and effort are apparent, and this track is a cacophony of mis-sequenced loops of pure garbage. Sure, way back in the day Tiesto was an excellent Trance producer, however he should stay as far as possible from Electro House as he can. He is intoxicating it with filth.

Enough of my rant, that's it for today's compilation.

This is a remix of Bob Marley's famous "One Love", and features extremely groovy and uplifting beats, as well as featuring an excellent buildup.

Second is an excellent track coming from the Pleasurekraft studio, featuring not only groovy beats, but more importantly, a fantastic vocal manipulation which displays Pleasurekraft's signature sound and skill.

Third is another amazing original production by Pleasurekraft which, of course features their signature vocals, and those vocals were recorded from a homeless man in Miami! It also has this big house sound that I absolutely cannot help myself but to dance to.

Number four is a KILLER Electro House track from one of my favorite up and coming artists, a product of Miles Dyson's Plasmapool label. This track features extremely fat synthesizers, with a great Fidget House input, although minimal, compared to his other tracks. Although the balance between standard Electro House and Fidget House is what really sold me on this track.

Number five is from my favorite producer of all time, deadmau5. It features an extremely fat bass and beat, but it doesn't go over the top and still retains deadmau5's signature sound. Surprisingly, in the middle of the track, a lead synth solo springs up as well, which really glues the track together in my opinion. Although it's not my favorite, nor one of my favorite's from the mau5, it's definitely a killer track that will have your room trembling if your soundsystem can handle it.

That's all for today folks, I hope you enjoyed the compilation. I know it was a bit short, and Pleasurekraft was repeated twice (I kind of love them), but I'll keep them coming.
